He had been having issues for several weeks. I believe they thought it was sinus infection / travel related. He passed out yesterday and was taken to Concord Med who immediately airlifted him to Charlotte. It was an ailment far more dangerous that caused some extraordinary pulmonary issues. Terrible tragedy. I can say more but that’s probably more than enough

I got to meet and talk to Kyle away from racing several times. He was a really good guy. Prayers to Samantha, Braxton, Lennox and the entire Busch family. I’m worried for Kurt. He worked hard to beat issues he was dealing with and this is impossible to deal with

I have no inside knowledge but with his age and being generally pretty healthy I’d think it was something clot related. Pulmonary embolism or stroke. Tough one though. He was a big time talent.

They found him non-responsive on the simulator Wednesday night. If ever there was going to be a guy in this generation to go out behind the wheel -- even if it was just the simulator -- it would be Kyle Busch.

Based on the news in recent weeks, I assumed it had spiraled into pneumonia and some sort of complication from that.

There was a lot not to like about Kyle for a lot of his career, but he was real. And NASCAR needs those personalities to be at his best. He'd certainly changed some in recent years as he invested a lot of time into Brexton and his burgeoning career.

Last summer Kyle spent every Tuesday at Charlotte Motor Speedway for the races at the 1/4 mile track. Brexton ran two races a night. At the end of the night, Kyle climbed in the Legends car and raced the 40+ Masters division, and for most of the summer he whipped everybody as you'd expect. He was at the track to be a dad but while he was there, he was going to race. And win.

Well said.

Kyle was also a fixture at Millbridge Speedway. A tiny little dirt track between Mooresville and Salisbury where a ton of the kids racing go-karts are from family's with nascar ties. And while he wanted Brexton to win every race, he knew all the kids, helped them out if/where he could, etc etc etc. He was truly a really good guy.
