Did you know that Oklahoma St softball pitcher Ruby Meylan is the granddaughter of 2 time All-America Wayne Meylan.🫵🏼

Girls sports are brutal. I always feel bad for the Dads that are sitting there in the bleachers with their eyes totally glazed over, trying to pretend that they are into the game. But at least they have an actual reason to sort of be "into it".
This is so not true and Kong will see for himself in a few years 😁

It's pretty ruff bud. I was forced to watch a WNBA game at my in laws. It was just bad basketball. So many bunnys and just fundamental backboard lay-ups were missed badly. It was brutal.

I’m talking about watching your own daughter - who you practice with and teach skills to and then goes out and competes. I’ve never watched a WNBA game but watching my daughter play sports is a great joy.

This is pretty much the only reason that men watch girls sports...because they have to.
Watching the Nebraska Volleyball or Softball teams is completely different than watching the WNBA game.

I have a few friends that have Men’s Basketball, Football tickets along with Volleyball and Softball.

How they afford all of them is none of my business.

Dude same!

I have a friend that has 12 husker season FB tickets and I think 6 VB season tickets. Like, how do you afford that?

Oh and two tailgate spots in front of Memorial stadium.

Such a lame take even for you. I’m assuming you don’t have daughters that played sports. If that’s the case then maybe admit you have no idea what you are talking about. If you do have daughters that compete and that’s your take … then it sounds like you could use some mentoring in the “dad” department.

..my daughter didn't do sports, she went the dance route instead. FREAKING BRUTAL!! I once suggested I was pretty sure time passed slower at the Orpheum than any other place on earth and they should do a stidy about it. Didn't make me a bad dad, just a dad that thinks dance recitals fukcing suck.

We will see

my oldest daughter bases the success of a sports season on how many friends she made, not on Ws/Ls

I’m perfectly fine with this, by the way, and assume this is how 90% of girls treat sports at every level

So, is it fair to say that you attend HS girls games of teams that your daughter is not playing on?

Show Choir, from what I have been told, is purgatory for Dads.

The true separation starts around middle school. When the select coaches come looking for your money...errrrr looking to help your daughter build her skills.

No the context of my argument is that I enjoy watching my daughter compete. And a father can take great joy in that and isn’t “forced” to watch. Does that mean I would prefer outside of that context to watch girls sports over men’s. No. But I get excited to watch my daughter and her teammates compete because I see the work they put in and have a personal connection with the team.
