Recently began watching this 4 episode limited series. It’s about a 13 year old boy arrested and charged with the murder of a female classmate.

A unique feature of this series is that each 50 to 60 minute episode is shot with a single camera in one continuous take. No cuts, no edits. They even used several handoffs with the camera obviously shooting as a handheld device, then seamlessly mounted to a drone and straight into an aerial shot. The story has been compelling so far (I’ve watched 3 of 4) and the acting is incredible. Amazing to watch a scene with two actors talking for 30 minutes straight to memorized scripts. The kid that plays the suspect in particular. It’s his first acting role and he’s great. He won an Emmy for his role.

If you choose to watch it you should know the actors are all British with some pretty heavy accents, so CC is a must.

I 100% agree on the accents ... closed caption is essential, or you're wasting your time.

each episode focuses on a different part of one huge traumatic event

1. the initial aftermath and booking of a crime
2. investigation at school and how the social setting played a part of the childs behavior
3. deep dark interview with the alleged offender. This episode was slow but amazing. A kid with no acting experience pulled off one of the best interviews I've seen
4. Long-term aftermath on the family

the whole show is slow, but it's super heavy and well done

I think you have to have the mindset that you are ready to appreciate a very heavy slow burn or else it's not going to be enjoyable

Children of men has a single take scene 8–9 minutes. And Scott adkins has a couple single take movies.

The show takes another cheap shot at "toxic masculinity" and the infamous manosphere. It's trite wokeness and just another example of leftist ideology targeting anglo protestant masculinity for the 100th time while never holding militant feminists, radical Muslims, or ratchet urban culture accountable when those three subcultures are chiefly responsible for the downfall of the west.

Netflix's original content had become hot garbage.
You are a legitimately terrible human being

Things seem pretty calm during this whole 'downfall of the west.'

I've never seen so many buzzwords in one paragraph lol. Your post reads like one big Facebook meme with added anger and drama included. All that's missing is several giant siren emojis in a row. Fix that and your post would go viral amongst dudes pretending to be angry about society. I bet they'll all be wearing sunglasses too!

Watch this if you want to see the insane world liberals live in and how toxic masculinity and online "incel" culture is destroying the world. this show is meant for libs to smell there own farts. Don't watch this anti male propaganda.
I’m glad my tax dollars are going to go towards paying idiots who beat capital police officers on Jan 6. Anyone claiming to still support this administration is an absolute clown. Hope you become a decent human being someday. Feel sorry for your wife and kids if you have them.

How did this turn into a political thread. some people's obsession with politics is insane.

Yes, negative effects of toxic masculinity is a part of it, but it's based off real stories that happened in England.

Marriage rates are lower than they've ever been before. Reproduction is lower than it's ever been. Criminality amongst teens is on the rise. Fatherless homes are at a record-breaking pace. One out of three teenagers experiences chronic anxiety.

You must live in a bubble. Most of your ilk does. Those Ivory towers have great views don't they?
What does marriage and babies have to do with anything? Do you want people in their early to mid 20's getting married and having kids when things are so expensive? That's brought to you by an older generation making things worse. Then you follow it up by talking about fatherless homes so I'm not sure what you want exactly. You sound a tad bitter that younger people aren't running towards marriage and trying to get pregnant as previous generations did. That's called being smart, esp. in today's world where homes, cars, gas, everything is really expensive. It's certainly not the 'downfall of the west.' Is the 'manosphere' a bunch of guy podcasters? I've listened to and have enjoyed Rogan at times. He brags about getting high, loves talking about aliens and world history, and tends to say "wow..." and "that's CrAzY!" a lot.

As far as anxiety goes, we've all felt it and there's not an age limit on it. Having anxiety over something doesn't make you soft but you do have to overcome it. You're mistaken if you assume it only affects a specific generation. Remember, you're the one who used about 17 buzzwords in one paragraph so I don't think I'm the one in a bubble lol.

You obviously have not watched the film from Jan 6th with Pelosi’s son in law filming it or the video that came out today. This was a set up. Everyone will know the truth eventually. It’s out there for you to watch if you’re willing to do the research.

Opinions about not getting married or having kids called “being smart.” No. It’s a choice and those who choose to wait or to reject that life are not any more intelligent than those who dive right in.

they claim they were inspired by knife attacks in the UK. there are no male influencer knife attacks in the UK. they have nothing to do with male influencers. This is another lib fantasy.

If you like the one camera approach, watch Alfred Hitchcock’s Rope.
One of the all time great one shots (with a little trickery thrown in).

My favorite “one’r” is probably from the “Who Goes There” season 1 episode of True Detective where McConaughey goes with the white supremacists to rob the drug house in the projects. Insanely intense.

Yes! I was trying to remember where I saw a one shot scene in recent years. That was an awesome take.

If you haven’t seen the Apple show “The Studio” with Seth Rogen they do a hilarious episode about trying to get a one shot done before losing the light. I think the whole episode is done in one shot as well if I remember correctly.

It’s Netflix I mean what can you expect. There is some great foreign shows but anything British is going to be filled with nonsense. They have entered a different level of dystopia.
I don’t follow British news very much, what’s the dystopia they’ve entered?
