U20 WTT entry’s continue to trickle in…
57kg: This is almost an Open level field… Zinkin joins Grey Burnett, Paul Kenny, Dom Munaretto and Rylan Seacrist among others for the right to wrestle Isaiah Cortez in a best of 3. Rocklin didn’t enter the open due to some dental surgery so glad to see him in here. I think he’s potentially the clubhouse leader to win, all things considered hit having to get 2/3 from a fresh Cortez is tough given the field. I’m predicting Rocklin gets to the finals assuming he isn’t rusty after the small layoff. If he makes the finals, I would pick him.
61kg: The other Cortez brother (Cornell) is sitting here. Interestingly, Aaron Seidel has entered at this weight (initially 65kg for the Open) Given his ability and the small entry group, I see him winning.
65kg: Bo next question. I still like watching Wolbert. Even though he’d never start for us, he wrestles a fun style and I’m rooting for him.
70kg: Landon is sitting to the finals. Cam Howard ‘28 #2 p4p has entered, as has Melvin Miller. Melvin is good but Landon has beaten him the last two times they wrestled last year and Landon has only gotten better. I like LR here.
74kg: Jayden James is him.
79kg: Small group. Tosu commit Ryan Burton is sitting here. Dhabolt and Asher Cunningham could make it somewhat interesting but I like Burton.
86: Mikey White has entered here with Aeoden Sinclair sitting. Mikey would obviously have an easier path at 92kg but this would infer he’s clearly making a push for 184 this year. It’ll be interesting to see him in this group. Brock Mantanona would be a great litmus test if they meet.
92: Ladd Holman and Tanner Hodgins are both wrestling here w Mastny (ISU) sitting out. I think Holman is the best wrestler in this group and am picking him to come out of the best of 3. Both our guys can win this.
97: Small group w tosu commit Boyle sitting. He’ll be the guy here.
125: Coby Merrill sitting. Dreshaun figured him out by the end and would have beaten him if he had another 30 seconds. Ross is seemingly in our room right now but hasn’t entered yet. Assuming he will and even though he’ll have the fatigue factor wrestling a fresh Merrill, I think Dreshaun can be the rep here.
