He is good at making money. Often at the expense of dupes.
He is good at making himself money. His companies don’t make money, though the stock doesn’t reflect that.
I'm not sure I'm buying what you are selling OP. I don't know Musk and certainly don't like a lot of things he does. But he wasn't born the richest man in the world. He got there somehow. I'll let you guys argue why. But I doubt it's because he's stupid.

Didn't say he was rags to riches. The man was born with a silver spoon in his mouth to say the least. All he had to to do was not be really, really stupid with his money and he'd be able to live a lifestyle we can only dream of. But he didn't. Instead he became the richest man in the would. It's a mixed bag. So he started x.com and merged with a company which became PayPal, but he was forced out of PayPal because he was a spaz but because he had shares he made hundred of millions of dollars. Then you also have stuff like his Tesla stock being completely detached from reality and is just a massively overvalued speculation stock.
It was pretty smart of him to buy so much government access that he was given control of a fake government department that he used to kill the government entities that were investigating him for fraud and such.

He doesn't have to be that way as many successful CEOs have shown, yet chooses often to lash out when even slightly criticized. Maybe 'fragile'?

How has he used his money against the American people other than to support a candidate you dislike? I'm all for getting big money out of politics but if you oppose Musk you should equally oppose Soros, Bloomberg, Steyer, Hoffman, etc.
It seems to me that democrats have contributed much more to Musk's wealth than republicans. $7,500 per vehicle tax credits, carbon credit schemes in 9 states, regulations and laws promoting EVs over ICE vehicles, etc.
