Are you comfortable using highly offensive language on a regular basis in conversations with friends, family, co-workers, etc?

Got called that word one time while walking through the Wig & Pen parking lot with my lady friend. Have no idea who the dude was or why he said it.

I actually use that word a lot nowdays. In the cool way though.
You also use the R word quiet a bit. I then realize you're this weird person from close to Vinton who most likely has a drinking problem, follows the weather like you have some regrets of not being a meteorologist, and post obscure pictures most likely fueled from your drinking. A lot of room for improvement

How'd you know I was from Vinton?

And thank god I’m not comfortable using highly offensive language in front of others. Pretty good indicator of a low iq individual when you are comfortable using offensive language. Fits the mold of the handful of idiots on this board that use it regularly.

No, not anymore. I'm Gen X and we grew up saying that in elementary school. It was even in movies in the 80s. Just ridiculously open bigotry that we thought was normal. Being called gay or any of the slurs by a kid was the worst insult imaginable.

I said it through college and my 20s. I did not use it as a slur against gay people ever. I just used it talking sh*t to friends. Used it pretty consistently through my 30s and early 40s for the same purpose.

But it's right out these days. I feel pretty small thinking about how casually I used such a hateful word. I really did not understand how horrible it's been for gay people in this country until recently. Same with trans people. Same with women and minorities. Just completely blinded for most of my life to my cis white hetero privilege. The scales have fallen from my eyes.

I'm not sure I've ever used the word "ph@ggot" ... that's a weird, harsh word ... I know when I was a youngster, many, many moons ago, we'd call each other "ph@gs" or "gay" on occasion, to razz each other. That was obviously well before there was a push to exclude it from the vocabulary ... and when we were younger teenagers. We'd still say things like "that's gay" when we were older teens. I talk to my kids about such things, and they confirmed that it's not used, at least past the early teen years, unless it's the scummy kids who are drinking, smoking and skipping school at very young ages and just had horrible/missing parents. You know, the burnouts who never stood a chance in life.

Shid, I thought you were talking about me. Other than the pictures, this pretty much nails me, including the need for improvement.

I had some dude in a gas station parking lot call me an "fücking retard" because when he asked me if I thought "the government is dropping chemicals to keep us dumb using chemtrails" from planes.

I just looked at him and said "I doubt it.". And he went nuts.
