The Weld County Republicans chairman has resigned after he was arrested for attempting to solicit sex from Larimer County Sheriff's Office investigators posing as a minor.
The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office conducted a sting operation May 14 that involved investigators posing “as minors selling sexual acts on local websites and forums,” according to the May 15 news release. The sheriff’s office says several dozen people responded to the listings, and two men came to the agreed upon location with the intent to buy sex from minors.
One of the men was 24-year-old Windsor resident Hunter Rivera, the chairman for the Weld County Republicans.
