That doesn't mean affirming every belief or behavior uncritically. I can disagree with someone's choices, theology, politics or lifestyle while still believing they deserve basic dignity and respect as a human being. I'd like to believe I do this on this forum and irl as well.
As for the race comparison...I don't think it's equivalent. Race is externally observable and genetically ancestral. Gender dysphoria is a recognized psychological/medical condition involving distress related to one's biological sex and identity. Now, you can agree or disagree on how society should respond to that but they are not literally the same phenomenon. That Dolezal woman wasn't saying "I feel culturally connected to black culture" or whatever...she knowingly misrepresented her biological ancestry and personal history.
Lastly, emphatically yes in that society draws lines all the time. Thats why I already said I don't support transitioning minors or biological men competing in womens sports. But there is still a difference between setting boundaries in certain areas versus treating every trans person as a predator or deviant by default.
