The smirking, ignorant Mandami discusses his luxury tax here.

He attacks Ken Griffin for spending $238 million on a property he doesn't live in all of the time. Turns out that Griffin's firm Citadel WAS planning a development "expected to contribute $4.5 billion into the local economy and generate 6,200 construction jobs and 15,200 permanent positions, according to city filings from last year." https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/inv...ionaire-griffin/ar-AA21A9pl?ocid=BingNewsVerp

Also, turns out that Griffin has made major charitable contributions and has made $2 billion in charitable contributions, including $450 million to Harvard and $125 million to the University of Chicago. Dunce mayor couldn't have chosen a worse person to pick on.

LOL dEsTRoYing neW yORk. This is just rich people bitching about paying taxes, a tale as old as time. New York will continue to be the epicenter of the financial markets with or without Ken Griffin.
Folks like you say the most ignorant things for your stupid party. None of what Mamdani is attempting has every worked. When it was tried previously, it was an absolute failure. That's a probable fact. Not a single, major, blue run city in America is doing well. Why deny real facts?

NYC is far more than Wall Street.

New York City’s $12 billion budget deficit in 2026 has been closed through a combination of state aid, new taxes on the wealthy, and city cost-saving measures, resulting in a balanced $124.7 billion budget.

And you're a low wage earner and low IQ voter who doesn't understand basic economics.

I don't see any "real facts" in your statement.

NYC is far more than Wall Street.

Mandani didn't fix anything; he just kicked the can down the road!

  • Pension Deferrals: A major component of the savings ($2.3 billion over two years) involves restructuring debt payments on underfunded public pension plans, delaying costs to the 2030s and 2040s.
  • One-Shot Revenues: Critics call the budget "dishonest" for relying on one-time state aid (approximately $4 billion) and projected, yet unconfirmed, revenue from a new "pied-à-terre" tax on luxury second homes.
  • "Fake" Agency Savings: The plan anticipates $1.7 billion in savings over two years by ordering city agencies to find efficiencies and leaving vacant positions unfilled, which analysts argue may not materialize.
  • Postponed Costs: The budget relies on delaying the implementation of mandated class-size reductions, saving $500 million now while ignoring future
