It’s Been awhile. . . .

Ya know, I was thinking this weekend about you guys! I remember when Gabe was being recruited and I hid on here watching the show unfold. Then I slowly became a part of this board, immersing myself in what I would soon realize was pure familial dysfunction. I disappeared this season because to be honest, it was hard being around as the dad of a kid dealing with a lot of issues. And that was being around WRESTLING not just this board. How hard was it? The only match I saw in Cleveland was his first, that he lost. No, my time was spent in the car, sitting in the parking garage around the corner. What was I doing? I was shopping on Amazon and praying. Hell, the ONLY way I knew the outcome was my phone would blow up with a lot you guys and others telling me the scores. Actually took a pic after each match. One day, I may share them. . I was a hot mess.

Having the guys over this weekend reminded me how much I love being there for them, but more so how much I love this sport. I loved watching these men just be kids and have fun stuffing their faces, hanging out with their mat brothers.

And I said all that to say this:

Suck it! This was probably one of my BEST Low Country Boils. I hope the picture make you sorry sob’s mouth water. I’m back! Here to annoy as many as possible and make fun of some of the deranged logic some of you people post.

and yes, I STILL mean YOU PEOPLE.

This was sadly my first NOT using my beloved andouille. There are a few guys on the team that do not consume pork. And if you’ve ever tried andouille made with beef…. Look, I’m half-black not half stupid….

I went with a 100% beef sausage. It went in about 5 mins prior to the shrimp and mud bugs. The good thing about the beef is its ability to absorb and hold all that spicy pot goodness!!

Feb 7, 2025. It's a year old phot, but it made my kids day. Gabe looked happier than my kid did. Class act. My fam is pulling for him 1000%. Incredible year last season accomplishing what he did. Go hawks. Screw the haters.

That's a huge plus for him, because he's an incredible wrestler. He gets ragged on because matches are close but when he pulls the trigger he's like lightning. But again my kid loved the photo op. Made his day.

It’s literally better today than it was Sunday. It’s not even noon and I’ve been munching on shrimp.
Liz told Gabe what all was left, so there will be a few stragglers grab up the rest!

Mustard Greens with a sweet or savory vinegar broth? My grandfather had a farm north of Marion and those greens grew wild. Loved them with salt, pepper and vinegar until I tried them in Arkansas with a honey tint. Outstanding.
