So it looks like football ticket sales are, shall we say, lacking?

Last year you could get 4 upper deck seats and a parking pass for $48 that included parking. Just got an email from the athletic department and for the season opener this season, its $36 in the upper level and a lower level offer for $79. So, for $9 (or $20) each you get in the stadium and can park your car for free.

Doesn't sound good at all.

There seems to be a lot more empty seats when you look at moving your current seat location. I don't blame people for not wanting to put out money to see this product.

I stated this in a previous post. After 30 plus years as a season ticket holder not renewing this year because of the cost of tickets, bulldog club fee ($500), parking fee and lack of a quality program. I can pick the games I wanna see and save a good amount. Did t even mention the concessions prices which are outrageous. Add in the Iran war 🙄 and gas prices it’s just not worth it.

The other side of this is when you suck - you need a coach that is engaging and goes to the fanbase asking for support.

Saying we need you at the games. Lebby out and about selling KaMario Taylor. Selling the fact we have a competent DC. But us as State fans...

Yeah, when I was renewing my tickets I looked around the rest of the stadium just for Ss and Gs to see what was available ... and there are a lot of really good seats for sale in the lower bowls and upper decks.

Interestingly enough, there's nothing (or almost nothing) in all the premium/club sections. You hear so much about that kind of seating being the wave of the future ... maybe there's something to it.

No one should be shocked by this. Anyone with eyes can see Lebby is a dead man walking and this year will likely be brutal.

Exactly. There's no excitement around the program. Fans want to be optimistic, but deep down they know there has been zero improvement beyond taking a few steps forward, then a few huge leaps back. It's incredibly frustrating because at times it appeared we were on the cusp of getting it figured out only to $#!t the bed when we got our hopes up. That's exhausting.

Sounds like a K-shaped economy, for sure

Combination of a lot of things. No optimism with the program but also every game is televised in high def, Starkville is remote for a lot of fans and alumni to get to, college football is now played by a bunch of overpaid mercenaries, prices for tickets/hotels/concessions/gas all just keeps going up, up and up, and so on and so on. Going to college games just doesn't have the same attraction it did 10+ years ago. Yes, TV viewership is up but I bet game attendance is down somewhat everywhere but especially for schools that are having trouble competing in this new pay for play environment.

Well considering we are coming up on 4 years since our last SEC home win, and as others have said Lebby is not really someone that’s a very public personality, this is kinda what you get.

Tennessee and Ole Miss taking over our stadium last year, I mean it’s gonna happen again this year with at least the Bama game.

Agree, Lebby has ZERO PR skills. Selmon really should send him to a training somewhere to help him.

I saw this and thought that I should have just not renewed and waited for the discounts to come out. They raised parking passes for season ticket holders so they could give the rest away and be closer to breaking even with last year I guess.
I'll try and remember this for next year if I even keep my tickets next year.

Downside. You have to watch this team play.

Honestly even if you do want to go to the games (apparently not many people do), youd be an idiot to buy season tickets. You can save hundreds, if not more than a thousand, by buying individual game tickets on sale.

We haven’t had season tickets for a few years, but I looked around earlier today. Seems like most of the tickets haven’t been released yet to the general public.

The optimist in me thinks we won’t suck and the pessimist in me thinks we’ll lose every game I attend.

Lebby never once made an honest pitch to the fan base. Just kept saying the same things over and over again every year.
wtf did ya'll want this man to do, ya'll keep talking about this like he was supposed to go to your house and let you know his 5 year plan personally

In the old days of the FlabLoser attendance calculator, the first variable was always “base attendance”, which was the number of fans that could be expected to show up, no matter what.

I feel like this year, the true “base attendance” of our fanbase will be known with certainty, because by midseason its going to be equal to the actual attendance.

Tickets sales aren't just lacking they're nonexistent. Basically giving away lower bowl tickets and a parking pass

Don’t be that guy. It’s been pointed out many times before that Selmon and Lebby were not even that close at OU.
Right. We did a “national search” and the best possible candidate just happened to be a mediocre career assistant at the school the AD came from. **
