I think it depends on how Pope does this season. If he’s mediocre again by mid season no shot any recruit comes here until we fire him and get a new coach. He’s already the butt of all jokes in the recruiting world.

The 27 class will punt on us.

We won’t get anyone most likely. Pope will be fired in April and unless the new coach has guys he brings with him then we will miss on 27 guys also.

I predict 2 top 50
I think we get two, I just don’t know if they’ll be top 50 or not. We need to add Rondo, Crawford and John Wall to this staff now. Hell I’ll take Cousins for the big men as well while we’re at it. 😆. Kinda joking ! Seriously though, I would call and make Prince an offer to be the GM I think. He seems like a great fit and Id think the money would be very competitive.

I predict Kentucky will continue to be mediocre at best and for the recruiting to be just as bad. I really hope these last couple years have shown that the great recruiting we had was entirely because of Calipari. I remember there being an argument when he left if the recruiting was the coach or the school. At this point we can hopefully all agree that it was entirely Calipari.

Besides maybe John Wooden, who had Sam Gilbert buying all the best players at the time for UCLA, Cal is the greatest recruiter of all time in College Basketball. I’m 10,000% not saying Cal is the most honest recruiter either, but he can sure get about anyone he wants.

Pope doesn’t have to be the greatest to ever do it, but he does have to get some great players to come here or time is going to run out. He’s been given a chance of a lifetime and I’m pulling for him, but results are what matters, and so far he hasn’t shown he can recruit at this level.

You don't see that as even more of a problem? A staff so dumb that they supposedly spent all their efforts recruiting one guy that wasn't a sure thing.

Not only was he not a sure thing but he was a longshot who fooled only our coach into getting strung along till the end.

Missing him was the least of the problems. The big problem is Pope not being able to tell he was completely getting played.
