Made tournament with regular, teams were solid from what I remember. Definitely better than what we've shown in recent years. Holding him accountable for last 2 HC hires is not justified.

Planning is the first step but it's execution and maintenance which turns a plan into a roadmap to success and I'm not sure Monte is the man for that job or that he could garner the support needed to pull it off.

Agree that he is not accountable for the previous coaches. He is responsible for his record...

Four straight NCAA Tournament berths (2016–2019)

If you just look at these numbers, you'd say that's pretty good, certainly better than Kingston's tenure. If you dig into it however, it doesn't look as good...

2016 Clemson Regional, hosted as #7 national seed: 2–2 Eliminated
2017 Clemson Regional, hosted: 2–2 Eliminated
2018 Clemson Regional, hosted: 2–2 Eliminated
2019 Oxford Regional: 1–2 Eliminated
2020 No postseason
2021 No postseason

He never made it out of a Regional even though they hosted three times.

Fired after missing the postseason in his final two seasons.

His best year was his first year, then they got progressively worse after that. He rode it down. Clemson didn't think that was good enough. We should not either.

I expect SC will hire him. It's just the kind thing we do.

I'm actually a little relieved to hear he had nothing to do with recruiting the last few years so there is that. Still though, we should not be considering anyone associated with the worse team in Gamecock history imo.

No thanks. Lee had talent at Clemson and couldn't get them to a Super Regional.

He shouldn't be on the staff in any capacity but he'll beg to stay because he doesn't want to work out of state so we'll probably keep him. His wife is still on Clemson's payroll coaching their dance team.

Great points, which I was aware of when I posted. Hopefully whoever is hired will consider some of his points. I really liked the "line up center of field" reference. I've heard knowledgeable baseball people indicate strong catcher, good pitching, solid SS and centerfielder is make up of good teams. We used to have that....

I said before, IF he is the choice, IMO this should be decided sooner than later to begin the list he outlined. Make the contract favorable for the university in case things fail. Watching this SEC tournament game is, I think, Monte Lee's last straw. He's had these guys most of the season now...

and they've regressed. We're worse now than day one.

I guess, in your opinion, the balance of the season has not been a fair shot for Lee.
