We're desperate man. Jamal is smart tho. Don't take the job before Stokes commits to Kansas making him look like a useless hire. Come on staff now to show you weren't only getting hired as a Stokes package deal . Would have been negative vibes around Crawford if he came here before Stokes committed.
You may be right. I don't see any positives for Jamal in this -- most likely outcome is the staff gets sent packing next March. Maybe he's confident that his son is good enough leverage to retain a position on the next staff. IDK if I were in his shoes (and I'm not), I'd just coach my son another year, then join a real coaching staff, not a cartoonish caricature.

It doesn’t matter who are assistants this year. If Pope doesn’t make the sweet 16 he’s canned.
It’s not that simple if we have 12-13 losses He’s probably gone. We would likely have saw behind Kansas by four or five wins. Maybe more considering Kansas will be better team much better.

Why? What's the point? He's an assistant high school coach. He isn't bringing Stokes. And it looks like we're begging. **** man this is supposed to be Kentucky. Pope needs to figure that out. Go get a proven guy that can overcome Pope to get some kids.

Well his son will be one of the top players in the 29 class so maybe he can stay on after Pope is fired and bring his son to UK

Pope has the patience of Job it seems. He will ride out these strung out decision timelines with all of his eggs in one basket, then get screwed at the end (Stokes). If Jamal is still "mulling", that means he's probably waiting on his agent to use UK to get a better deal somewhere else. Any time these situations are drawn out, it's almost always due to $$$.

Spot on but I don’t think it’s patience, rather weakness. He is so easily strung along, just part of who he is that makes him so unqualified to be in charge here. You have to be an alpha male type A to coach here. Pope isn’t close. He’s Mr. Rogers. He can’t get fired fast enough for me.

You are 100 percent off base, what other job is he going to take,he said the only job he would consider is Kentucky,Nbc is not going to give him a raise ,Tv is not about that, for a man to say he is only considering one job that takes your leverage there ,The hold up is trying to decide whether to uproot his family from California to here,we will have an answer after the western conference finals, there is a good shot he comes

That is an epically stupid position to claim. What does such an asinine statement even mean? Do you even care if UK wins or loses then?
It means I'm not a fanatic of any team. If they aren't entertaining I don't watch or enjoy watching. I enjoy the wins but winning Tubby style I didn't enjoy watching. Winning Pitino and Cal style I enjoyed watching. imo being a blind loyal fan is worthless. Did I enjoy the 98 championship as much as 96? No I did not. It just wasn't as entertaining. So if you can make arguments without "Stupid" and "Asinine" because you don't like or understand then we can clarify positions. Otherwise move on. I would never leave a job I had for a probable 1 year gig. I stand by that. Maybe Pope turns it around but with his odd offensive sets I'm not seeing that in his future.

So you are just a bandwagon fan who is more interested in being entertained than actual results. Seems very strange to me but to each his own.

Crawford seems very comfortable as a game analyst & makes low to mid seven figures working for the network. Ky can’t match that salary for an assistant coach & moving his family might be a tough stretch considering his son is a beast on the court playing in a big WestCoast city & AAU teams.
Great hire if we can get him but not getting my hopes up 💙
