I must be the only one - that person that shouts "Go....Big....Red" at the top of their lungs at every silent moment at basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball and Im sure tiddlywinks if it were played at NU....man that is really really grating to me.

I do enjoy a good ol Go Big Red chant in unison....but the guy that does it literally 30x per game at every minor break in the competition....give it a rest, it gets old real fast.

Also, stay off my lawn

I said what I said.

Agreed. It actually kinda drives me nuts. Your mileage may vary.

I agree. I've been complaining about him since September. He does it wrong first of all. He wears a red wig and striped overalls. I respect that he hardly misses an event but he's ANNOYING and I always say, dang that annoying f* is at the game again. He loves the attention....wants to be the next "Husker Bob" except people loved him.

This guy spends a ton of $ on tickets or he's being subsidized by unless.

Here's the deal. It's meant to be spontaneous and by the masses. What's been so cool to me in my many years of husker mania is hearing it as genuine and organic. Hearing it faintly in the distance with a response. Then from another voice in another direction. Then a young kid does it. Then a gruff voice from another direction. Not just the same person over and over again

There have been soooo many times that I have wanted to do the chant, to start it. Like at a bar in Lincoln or a tailgate...and I either wuss out because it just seems forced OR I worry about the lack of response.

But you are totally right, it needs to feel organic.

The whole thing is very offputting and cult like. More embarrassing than the past 25 years of nebraska football.

There are few things better on a gameday than to hear some little kid’s tiny voice start the Gooo Biiig Reeed chant. I’m sure some drunk idiot can make one of the greatest chants in all the land annoying as hell. But it’s one of my favorite things about gamedays.

Don't EVER wuss out. You will get a response if only 1 person. I've done it at Mt Rushmore, kona hawaii and even Florida

Was in Paris walking along river towards the Eiffel Tower 2015. Arabic guy running souvenir shop standing at door called out my Nebraska hat. Thought he was just trying to get me into store. He was an encyclopedia of Nebraska football. Talked about Tommie Frazier, Rozier- 83 loss etc. He lived on east coast here for awhile and his roomie was into college football- he latched onto Nebraska.
