As I said in the thread this morning. We are a bad matchup for Oregon. They have feasted on weak pitching all year and we have strong pitching. If we can score some runs, you put a lot of pressure on a team that is ranked better than they are.

St. Mary’s may beat them in the elimination game but I like our chances in this regional. Hate that we are matched up with Oklahoma in Super because that is a tall task.

I wasn’t discounting it. Just stating that we got a great regional draw except for the cross country travel. The 3 seed might be better than the 1 seed and we are the best team there.

Yep. Oregon was extremely overrated. St. Mary’s is a tougher matchup for us but they have to beat us twice so we should be okay.

For the softball followers here, we've typically had solid hitting and power and less so starting pitching. That seems completely reversed now. Two really good starters, but pretty anemic at the plate with multiple hitters at or below .200 BA's.

Has her philosophy changed that much or is it just a down season hitting wise and she'll be looking for portal power??

Softball is about pitching. We’ve had some really good hitters come through Starkville and haven’t been able to break through.

I understand pitching is of primary importance, but you can't be a weak hitting team and expect to make a CWS. I was asking where the hitting went, because this is the worst hitting team I've seen her have in her time here.

Was kind of shocked to see that the girl batting 2nd, who hit the 2 run HR in the 1st, came into the game batting .174 with 4 hits all season and no career HRs.

Great coaching move and great job by her. Just surprised she's batting 2nd in an NCAA tourney game.
