She appears to have no insurance. 5-0 onsite.
Any advice about feeling schitty tomorrow and diminished value claims? I’m in my $85k one year old M2

You got rear-ended by a woman, and it's making you stiff?

Hey, man, pegging is becoming more acceptable in today's society, so I won't judge.

Was your wife OK with it, or was she too busy getting a package delivered 'round back by the Amazon delivery driver to care?

I don't think you should feel bad about what you did tomorrow. No ragrets. You made a choice and you should live with the consequences. If you don't want to do it again, it's a live and learn type of situation.

I don't think there was any value in that rear end to get diminished in the first place.

Royal bummer, but at least the police showed up. In most places the police won't show up unless there are injuries and/or non vehicular damage to 3rd party property. I fear you're going to need to rely on your Uninsured Motorists coverage with your insurance policy to make the repairs.

Same thing has happened to us 3-4 times in the last 15 years or so. I'm starting to think that 50% of the people driving today don't have insurance.

There is no accountability or consequence for individuals who hurt or damage another person/property. While insurance is required for registration of a vehicle, many are registered yet not insured. Law enforcement does nothing. At a minimum, vehicle should be confiscated and sold with $ going to help victims.

My guy this am says it’s part of my liability coverage. I’m devastated and may move to a cheaper 26 Golf R.fml
Sorry about your car. And uninsured motorists are a huge issue here in NM.
VW, has thankfully come to their senses and are going back to knobs and dials and less "infotainment" crap. I have a 2016 GTI that still has knobs and dials and a screen that isn't the size of the TV in my living room.

Bought 2 a Mk7 GTI for graduation, after a year in Philly he lived with us for 3 years, I enjoyed his GTI on the daily.
26 GTI lost all haptic buttons, the 26 R still has em

so what happens financially when the driver has no insurance? You have to sue for reimbursement or your insurance picks up the tab?

You get your vehicle repaired by filing a claim with your insurance using the Uninsured Motorists coverage provision. Uninsured motorist claims are a major reason for the rapidly escalating vehicle insurance premiums.

And not just not having insurance, your insurance will also pick up the difference if the other person doesn’t have enough insurance. It really is a plague these days and it’s costing average insurance policyholders a boat load of money. But until the police and the judicial system do something about people driving without insurance and the state insurance departments raise the state minimum insurance requirements, nothing will be done about it.

I have to correct my earlier post, diminished value is excluded only if you were at fault and trying to repair your own car, or on comp claims. The "good luck' comment still stands as they will likely low-ball you and make you jump through hoops for every dollar.

My bmw insta bro suggested I get Jay Ray to fix my car. Well Jay Ray looked at it a few minutes ago and when I asked if Grigio Telesto was an easy color to paint/blend, he said “not too sure”. ffs
