Have lived in the heart of SEC country going on 25 years and have always found it interesting from a college sports perspective. Just recently I spent a couple years in Gainesville. So I found our win over Florida in the NCAA tournament a special delight with Cooper Koch treating their fans to the Gator chomp
The SEC commissioner of course has the interests of his conference in mind. His opposition to the 24 team proposal represents the best interest of college football any way you look at it. The concern about the 24 team proposal starts with the diminishment of the regular season which makes college football special. The annual Ohio State-Michigan game and these big SEC matchups play a big role in that.
This push for a 24 team playoff just looks so shortsighted. It begins with a worsening economic outlook ahead which makes the financial impact of adding these extra games less rosy. Hopefully common sense will prevail.
