What the hell is going on here ?
I don't think the coaches like Pete Golding, so the gloves are off. Coaches like him less then Lane Kiffin.

Might also be they aren’t really concerned about Pete Golding. He didn’t build anything. He just took over what Lane built and got the job because Lane left when he did. Credit to him for the job he didn’t in the CFP. But maybe these coaches don’t feel he’s earned his stripes.

An interesting dig considering his starting QB’s father, grandfather and uncle all attended Ole Miss.

Someone made the connection. Kudos! (y)

I'm sure Elisha Archibald hopped right on the phone when he heard that and said, "That reminds me, Steve, the last time I was on campus I forgot to give you this nice basket I wove for you. It had a big ole NIL donation in it, too."

It should be obvious he's trying to run off Arch so he can use all the millions allocated to him to get more talent at several positions, rather than blowing it all on a QB that hasn't wowed everyone so far.

"Tell me to leave without telling me to leave."

Orrrr
.... he could just be stupid (drunk?) and was spouting off before he realized just how deeply he stuck his foot into his mouth. 🤔

I thought his comments about TX only accepting 50% of a transfer's credit hours makes TX look bad. If that's a blanket policy at TX, it looks like a pure money grab to say that a student one semester away from graduation is now not even halfway there.

Additionally, it's disingenuous to suggest any transfers at the highest levels of college football care two turds about transfer credits.

Now would be a bad time to for Manning to leave though, right?

The transfer window is closed. I thought we went down to one window, or is there one now in spring too?

I honestly haven't kept up with that either (lack of caring again?), but was obviously joking. However, even if the official opportunity to leave was delayed for a while, I don't know of anything that would prevent him from coming down with the Juice Wells Flu and not feeling well enough to play... for the entire season. I mean, what can they do about it? We've repeatedly been told there is no connection between pay and play, and there's no enforcement mechanism where there is no obligation, right? 🤔
Regardless, it does appear odd to seemingly imply, "Yo daddy, his brother and their daddy are all as dumb as a bunch of inbred rubes", about your cash cow. Can't say I see that being a positive motivator for him??

But hey, if that's the way you want to channel your inner liquor monkey, what businesss of mine is it? I'm just here for the entertainment value! 😄

You only attack the people at the top or people that you fear. Take your pick. You don't waste your time on nobodies or people who can't beat you.

And for those critiquing Texas academic standards, I wish we were rated and thought of as highly as they are. I'm not sure if all their money created their academic prowess or vice versa, but they have both.

I agree he has not earned his stripes, I think the dislike comes from the way he recruits and how he does it. I dont think Dabo is the only coach pissed off with him just Dabo made his feelings very public, others are doing other things jabbing other ways at Ole Miss.

Again, it's only ppl at the top or those you fear. It's a waste of time to dwell on others who have little to no consequence; there's nothing to be gained, and it makes you look petty and insecure.
You say this like it’s a fact. People talk **** about all people all the time.

Spurrier talked crap about Phil Fulmer and Tennessee ALL the time. Yet he owned them. Same for Georgia. Owned them too. He wasn’t looked at as petty or insecure. He was celebrated because it was entertaining and he backed it up. It’s called trolling.

Fulmer and Tennessee were serious contenders. So was Bowden and FSU.

I could be wrong, but I don't really recall Spurrier picking on the coaches who were inferior or programs that simply could not compete with Florida. Spurrier was different at South Carolina. I don't recall him being as obnoxious, but of course he was older and was at a smaller program with far less dollars and recruiting influence.

I have a degree in basket weaving. 🤔 😕
I only have a minor in it.

If it's true that all you have to do is take a basket weaving class at Ole Miss to get a degree, that would be pretty cool. It would certainly be the least expensive college degree in the country.

And Shane earned his job?

Oh, I missed the part where Shane took over the job from the previous guy that left right before the CFB Playoff started.

Good Lord some folks can’t read **** in context. It’s exhausting. Before you go thinking I have an issue with Golding…I don’t. The whole point of the post was to point out the issue they may have with him. That being said, I’d be surprised if Ole Miss isn’t back to mediocre in 2-3 years.

But, plenty of coaches have taken shots at Beamer. I’m not sure he’s well liked / respected either.

I think a lot of other coaches see Beamer for what he is, an overly emotional clown cheerleader who got a head coaching job because of who his daddy is. I don't know if they like him or not, but I doubt they really respect him as a head coach.
