James could be a 4 timer
As of now, I think he is better than Bassett

So far, the only one more impressive than James in this tourney could be Amit Elor who gave birth a few weeks ago and likely gets 3 or 4 hours of sleep a night.

If the new “5 for 5” happens he could technically be a 5 timer no? What weight is James going.. with no more RS available PSU won’t be able to juggle their lineup as much and there will be quite the logjam… some really good guys are going to have to sacrifice years of eligibility…

I disagree w James being better then Bassett but seems like everyone always underestimates Basset even tho he’s won everything recently.. probably still some that think he might not be able to adapt to college even though he’s been beating up on grown men for a while now.

I wouldn't write Knox off. Lee horses people around and now Knox has felt that. I don't think he can win but Lee isn't invincible. He has gas tank issues. He has injury issues. He has mental lapses.

He definitely is favored but it wouldn't surprise me if Knox has a decent showing against Lee.

Watching Knox match. Not looking good. However love to see him win to potentially go against Luke Lilledahl for in finals of Final X seeing both going 125. Believe he has beaten him previously.

Great showing for Anthony. Lee is an animal and a grown man. Also, agree that Jayden can be a 4 timer

At 17 year old high school junior, James just missed being a finalist for the world team and there was some iffy calls in his match against 2x national champ David Carr.

When Bassett was 17 years old, he was in 5th grade.

And what about Basset? Didn’t he earn his spot to face off against Real Woods at final X?? Guess that means nothing. Yooo, the 5th grade comment 🤣😂

Bassett is gonna be a stud. I’m not knocking his talent, but there’s plenty of other good wrestlers.

As good as James is I don’t think he will be able to compete 5 years at PSU… his ideal weight seems to be 165 and Mesenbrink is there… doubt he can drop to 157 and if he could Kasak is there.. and 174.. with no more RS.. Duke is probably bumping up to 174..

So after Mesenbrink graduates James could go 165/174(maybe Duke goes 165 after Mesenbrink graduates) wit his 4/5 years of eligibility but even then a spot is not guaranteed with Duke/Sealy/Henckel/Cunningham all around that weight..

Messenbrink will have graduated by the time James gets there

Yep they are both blue chippers. I don’t think it’s an automatic James will start all 5 years at PSU with how crowded that room is.
Could Forrest, Bassett, and James be the best trio ever to come out of high school in one calendar year? (Yes, Jax left in January) If not, what three were better?

The hype is there. But I'd say let's see what all three can do in college before making that call.

Edit: first look at random class, 2017. You ready to put them above Spencer Lee, Yanni, Nick Lee (and add in Fix?)

Throw in freshman champs Vega, Valencia, and Robideau class too alongside Jax.
