So they don’t know about your gay bashing.

I’d suggest they’d be disappointed to find out, but I’m guessing they couldn’t be more disappointed in you than they already are.

Da Plane, Da Plane....

Good grief some of these posters are stuck in the past. Or, more likely, struggling with their own sexuality.

It’s been a long time since I’ve heard so much “f*g” this and “f*g” that. The right’s obsession with LGBTQ and gender issues is baffling.
I don't think it is really anti-gay to say those words. Being a teen in the 90s that was how we talked to each other. Its friendly insults.

I don't think "we did this as teenagers" is a particularly good justification for what you do as an adult.

I disagree with your position, to be clear. I don't think it's particularly difficult to strike certain words from your vocabulary and I think it says something negative about a person when they're either unwilling or unable to make these adjustments. (There are obviously edge cases and considerations for the number of people who are reasonably upset about a word. I haven't attempted to abandon "lame", as an example. As a general rule though, I try not to disparage immutable characteristics of people.)

Edit: I think that people can work to become less stupid, so that's not immutable and fair game to dunk on.

I hear you. There is just something freeing about not policing your speech. I know you will think this is funny, but a lot of the American First push was also Libertarian in nature of just Freedom. I promise you I will not try to hurt any gay persons feeling by calling them a name. Now once you become friends with them all bets are off.

I'm sure it is but I imagine there's a lot of "policing" you do all the time that you don't consider policing. OR that you've basically internalized as indecent so it's not policing anymore.

Homophobic slurs fall in that second category for me, as I'd think the N-word has for you.

This is where I’m at. Growing up gong to high school in a blue collar town in Iowa in the 80’s we would use f*g, ret*rd and the like all the time. Many in school used the n word frequently.

The reality is those words are hurtful to people, even when not intended. So why use them? There are much more clever ways to get your message across.

Having said all of the above, I have a fondness for the Aussie use of c*nt as a term of endearment. Kind of appreciate that one.

According to Dpink, @LafayetteBear ‘s fata$$ just does it to mock other posters🤣
He told you he was not fat but you ran with it like a lunatic because someone who doesn't know him personally suggested it. Put it this way, I don't think Lafayette is homophobic in any way, shape or form but he throws it back at people like you and Screech, who believe it's the ultimate insult. Plus, just like everyone else on the board, we all believe you're really a self-hating gay and that's why you act like a raging homophobe to throw everyone off the scent.

If you're unable to debate and you have nothing to add besides repetitive homophobic insults, why TF are you here? Everybody except the lowest common denominator posters hate you and don't need to hear the same vulgar trash you constantly spew. It doesn't offend us in the least because we don't have an ounce of respect for you but it does make us pity you. Your parents should be ashamed of how you turned out, what an embarrassment you must be for them. You're just an irrelevant male version of a sk@nk.

I was also teenager in the 90s, and we absolutely did not use homophobic slurs in referring to our friends. Those terms were certainly "anti-gay" in addition to being generally insulting. The people who would use those terms were explicitly attempting to denigrate or enrage and were usually hoping to instigate a physical confrontation. Homophobic slurs were in the same tier of incendiary rhetoric where I went to high school as racial slurs.

Maybe you were from somewhere cooler than me. We certainly used it as a pejorative when playing video games to basically mean "lame" but then we (most of us) grew up. I can't actually remmeber having any moral issue with gay people at any point in my life, though it was "weird" to me until adulthood.

Is central Alabama cooler than where you grew up? If anybody had referred to anybody using a homophobic slur while playing video games, the result would have been a friendship-ending physical fight.

I don't know if you were in an actual city but that'd probably make it cooler than Lexington, SC. I'm not doubting your story at all, just trying not to judge people too much for dumb stuff they did as kids. Doing it as an adult is a different story.

We really didn’t have any racial or homo issues at my school. We all just lived and did our thing. It was really nice!

You guys remember when the left was trying to hype up the monkey pox vaccine, but everyone knew that it was almost exclusively spread in the gay community and then a bunch of kids and dogs started getting it? Wasn't it weird how the left immediately dropped that narrative once we had a bunch of sick, abused kids and pets?

m.knox is now back to promoting homophobia? You're piling on in a "let's hate gays" thread, like you're an insecure 12-year-old unsure of your sexuality, and scared you might like dudes? Heterosexuals and homosexuals alike do horrible things to kids ... why not highlight the heterosexuals that sexually abuse kids ... you know, like Epstein and Trump?

Do your Democrat wife and kids know you're a gay basher?
But the dems are gay bangers??? 😅🤣😂

So you’re saying there is a correlation? Maybe there is some truth to sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me!

Between you thinking those eras where special and bigotry? That's not my place to decide.

Either way, my original point of "I used to be able to be mean without someone confronting me, so I'll vote for the people that are mean" is a sad and impotent political ethos.
