Or is it the coaches who can't coach hitting or both?⚾️
Maybe it's just me but if I'm coaching a guy that's not hitting or getting better, I have failed in my job. You don't bring guys here that don't have good looking swings. It is my job to see he succeeds and his swing is maintained. Same goes for bunting. If a guy can't bunt, I didn't do my job. It is always on me.
So that said, I'm blaming the coach. lol

If our hitters are following the hitting coach's philosophy and approach at the plate, it is definitely flawed.

Hitting development does not exist within HS or college. It is your responsibility to get instruction elsewhere. You simply follow the coaches hitting approach which may change based on team or pitcher. These kids can hit but are obviously flawed and the approach is terrible.

It is obvious the players quit a while back. They are going through the motions trying to get to the last game now.

True, college is not a developmental league and college coaches aren't there to teach players how to hit the ball.

True although swings never stay the same and go south in a hurry. They are definitely fluid. They evolve on their own into something not good if they are not maintained... all too quickly. lol.
Maintenance is the responsibility of the college hitting coach. The hitting coach's #1 job imo is to maintain the swings he signed up to coach... even if it's just a tweak here or there. They won't fix themselves and they will become a mess in a hurry if he doesn't stay right on top of it... a full time job really.
