I mean we could be UCLA and Mick Cronin and whine about it all season...A quick glance leaves me thinking the BIG didn't do Iowa basketball any favors, somewhat like the daunting football schedule. But Ben will take it in stride and embrace the challenge.
I agree with this. We always had a rep for being a very tough place to play and, at 15,500, we are one of the bigger B1G arenas to play at.There is quite literally zero excuse for Carver to not be packed every night next year.
Has Ben announced any changes at all regarding carver? seating/student section/etc...There is quite literally zero excuse for Carver to not be packed every night next year.
I don’t include UCLA in with the likes of Illinois, Michigan, and Purdue as an unwinnable game for Iowa.Honestly, this schedule is probably about the best we can hope for. We were most likely going to lose to Illinois, Michigan, Purdue, and UCLA anyway....so may as well have those as road only and not use up a home game for a probable loss. Every single home game besides MSU is a probable win and the home/away teams are a fairly even matchup, so we can probably split.
Doing a quick W/L of that schedule, I've got 13-7. 6-1 in the home only games, 3-4 in the road only games, and 4-2 in the home/away games.
That will come from Beth and I wonder how things stand on the renovation as well. In doing the reading I have on the financial state of college athletics it really pleases me to know that Iowa stands as on one of only a handful of schools in the country self sufficient in Athletics. Donor burnout has become a buzzword and this project like so many things relies on our donors and hasn't quite come together financially.Has Ben announced any changes at all regarding carver? seating/student section/etc...

Let us count our blessings on having the situation that we do. Get Carver up to date and with Ben at the helm mens basketball looks to have a very bright future.
