This is mostly at this point based on the number of recruits vice the overall quality. Look at the teams below us and how many four stars they have in comparison.
Fair, but it is great momentum. Seems they have been adding to the top of the rankings in the class lately more than they have been adding to the bottom.

Building a development base through recruiting and filling needs through the transfer portal is a nice mix. Glad to see Stein is making UK a destination and beating out several top programs for recruits.

Personally, I love the geographic dispersion (7 different states). They are not just all OH (Youngstown) and KY kids!

Love this guy. Clearly not a Barnhart pick. Young, high risk high reward, offensive minded, revolutionary. This wasn’t picked by Mitch, there’s zero chance of that. Once he screwed up basketball and football with the contracts and bad hires, it was all pulled from him. And thank God. Now we have to rid ourselves of his basketball mess next.

We took a couple from Kentucky who’ll be developmentally pieces. Still great players in they’re on right but it’s why we have a couple more right now. We’re gonna be right there if they keep this pace. Top ten would be unbelievable. If we can get Kellen Hall and flip Driver, we could be in the conversation for a top five class. That’s awesome.

There’s absolutely zero chance of the latter scenario some programs have already secured multiple five and four stars, over a dozen each.

We take Driver from Oklahoma, that drops them, get Hall, he’s top 20 in the country with a chance to move up, that would give up a couple five stars there and I’d bet the QB ends as a five, we have top five anyway. Maybe not number one but nothing they do will surprise me.

I can see Stein as the type that wants to build his own legacy at a school.

You can win anywhere now.

When you build a program to be a national power, why leave?
I’m not going to pretend to know what he would or wouldn’t do when it comes to top 10 programs, but many coaches have decided to stay at what they built. Virginia Teach was a nobody before Beamer. So it does happen, and we have a few things going for us. Number 1 he’s back with his family which is what he wanted. His kids are being raised where his family is, he grew up a UK guy, played football at UL. He’s a Kentucky boy, so Stein actually seems like the type that would build and stay put. While I’m sick over missing on a once in a lifetime thing in Sumrall, we might have actually pulled the better move back door with the same type of situation. Nobody paid attention to another Kentucky guy sitting out there at Oregon.

Truth be told, I wouldn’t trade Stein for Sumrall right now. Stein seems content, Sumrall showed that he’d leave for a number of jobs. It was the right move for us. Sumrall chose an SEC rival over where he played and he’s not from Kentucky. Doesn’t seem UK means that much to him the way it does Stein. I’m actually really turned off by Sumrall, he didn’t even give us a thought. I hope we beat the living F outa that guy. He’s number 1 on my list, but that’s me.

I’ve also seen some Florida fans say they should have taken a better look at Stein. Not sure how they feel about Sumrall right now, but I don’t think I make that trade.

Kellen Hall is elite. Would love to grab him.

Yeah I agree. I think the same way this can hurt Kentucky basketball, it can actually help football. Alabama used to be untouchable from our vantage point.. not so sure thats the case anymore. If Kentucky wanted to invest what Alabama invests, they probably could. There's really nothing special about football schools like Alabama and Auburn and probably even Florida and Tennessee.
