Use to be the biggest UL player hater ever.. funny how things change. I'm now good friends with Perrin Johnson. I coach AAU with him and he also trains my son. Really knows the game and utilizes a lot of Pitino drills, sets, and overall mind set. Was just over this past weekend. Also close with Stephan Van Treese. Very down to earth and not was I was expecting... While both were not studs on the floor they are great people that you would like to have a few drinks with. Maybe even 10.

as much as I do not like all cardinals.... Billy Thompson was not overrated. I guess it depends on what lens you look through and what you call overrated. They played for the title his frosh and senior season, winning the last and he lead the team in scoring, rebounding and assists. Had a decent/not great NBA career.

Good God settle down folks. It's always a good time to talk smack about a rival. Are we supposed to curl up in the fetal position until we have the coach/AD we all want?

It seems to me that the players from the UK UL squads of the mid-1960s to mid-70s were immensely more pleasant, friendlier, and easier to like than what we have now. Of course, with some notable exceptions. They even knew the way to the libraries on campus, imagine that. Players from that era also integrated both UL and UK. I wonder how many young players of this current era would sign up for that now. That recent photo of Stokes and Mikel Brown “sitting out” half of UL's season tells me all we need to know about a lot of these guys.
