This is known as moving the goal posts. I never said 7th outright I said tied for 7th. We also got cheated against Auburn or it would be tied for 4th. I never claimed it was good enough but it is accurate.

Man also with the Auburn game ....we put ourself in that position to be so close that one play could affect the outcome. Auburn was terrible by the way.
That argument is dog crap also talking about games we should coulda woulda won. What about the lsu game where we won on a miracle Moreno turn around?? It goes both ways. I don't see how y'all even want to stick up for "tied for 7th" that's just not the Kentucky I know.
But what happens when you lose a tie? If you're tied for 7th and lose then you end up 9th. We should have been better. Win the Auburn game then lose the lsu game so what would we be then? At the end of the day we lost to Auburn point blank. And we were 9th.
Also Cowboy is extremely obvious. I guess that's why he's trying to come after me lol because any time I see someone sticking up for absolutely anything that's bad I ask people if they are cowboy.
He's actually funny to me. I like his sense of humor. We could be 0-30 next year and he would say something overly positive. Most posters have their own niche.
You are going a bit off topic here. I am a Kentucky fan and I will defend Kentucky accurately and not exaggerate things to fit an agenda. You can say we tied for 7th and rightly should've been tied for 4th and still say it is not good enough to suit you while acknowledging it to be a legitimate point. If you can agree with this I care nothing about your post count. Recruiting has nothing to do with what was being discussed by me nor does Pope's future as our coach.

Edit .recruiting has everything to do with the conversation. Cowboy came at me for saying I was whining about the state of the program. Recruiting is the life of a program.
We made the shot to beat LSU. The referee farthest from the play made a horrible and dishonest call to decide the Auburn game it is not the same. We didn't lose after being tied for 7th we finished 10-8 just like the other two teams tied for 7th. Pointing out that we factually tied for 7th is not sticking up for finishing 7th it is sticking up for the truth.
Referee could have made the call. Moreno could have missed the shot. We tied for seventh. Program is in good hands.
I'm confused on what you're arguing. Ok we were the 9th seed because somehow we lost the tie breaker. But let's make it sound better we tied for seventh. We had the same record as the other seventh placers lol..... So much better right? Again what's your argument?
I have nothing to do with what Cowboy said that upset you so much. I simply pointed out the fact that we finished tied for 7th not finished 9th.
If you didn't think finishing tied for 7th was any better than finishing 9th you wouldn't keep floating it out there in an effort to make things sound as bad as possible.

You are the one who invoked your conversation with the apparent bane of your existence in an effort to bring recruiting into this. Could it be because there can't be three 7 seeds in the SEC tourney? You are confusing seed for actual finish in an effort to make things as bad as possible that is the issue.
My opinion is things haven't gone the way we have wanted for various reasons some of which were under our control and some that were not. I think things must get better in short order so we need to keep our chins up and get it done. If not there will be a change in the near future. Whining and being negative in the mean time will not fix anything.
Actually the other guy brought up the recruiting. But why did we end up the ninth seed? Did the other team do something that put them ahead of us? Beat a team we didn't beat? There's reasons man.
There's real reasons the program has its fans going no we weren't 9th we were 7th!!! My whole point from the beginning which is why I guess cowboy said I was whining or something. Program is in shambles. Not because I want it to be. Not because I'm exaggerating. Not because you or cowboy. Because Pope isn't the guy for the job.
He has only been here two years. There are plenty of examples of coaches struggling worse than this before getting things going so I am exercising a bit of patience. The depths of our failure are being overblown to this point. We have not had the level of success we have often been accustomed or wish to see but we are not garbage or in shambles. Kenny Payne at UL was far more disastrous and looked to be in shambles but do you think that is currently holding them back? If we don't get it going soon there will be a new coach and our current issues related to Mark Pope will be pretty much irrelevant to what happens from there.

A Uk fan complaining about the current situation the program is in, isn’t whining for the most part. I think where a few of you guys like Pope so much that you’re getting way too defensive. 99 percent of UK fans won’t be happy with 7th-9th place in the SEC. Do you honestly think Duke or UNC fans would be happy if they finished in that range in the ACC? Do you think fans of other blue bloods would be happy if they went 0-15 on top 20 recruits that visited campus? Absolutely not.

When he likes a coach he’s loyal to them. He defended Stoops till the day he was fired. Nothing wrong with that if that’s what he wants to do. But he likes Pope and he’s going to defend him the same way. He really believes that Kam Williams getting hurt cost Pope from winning or contending in the SEC last year (he said that in a post), even though Kam just averaged 6 points a game last year. I don’t understand that but it’s his right to believe whatever he wants and be a fan however he wants.

This isn’t the crappy SEC that Cal played in, where only 4 teams made the tournament.
The SEC set the record for the amount of teams in the tournament last year and almost got the same amount this year.
A bad year at UK, is still an NIT season, not 2nd place in a conference like the SEC has been the last 2 years.

Our SOS was 4th this year and 3rd last year. Most teams would be close to last place in a league like the SEC with the injuries UK had the last 2 years.

All you've done in this thread is b*tch and moan and act like this is the worst UK has ever been. It's not even close to that.
Truth is, the SEC has been incredibly difficult the last 2 years and UK has battled injuries. Also, the unbalanced schedules make a difference. We had a tougher SEC schedule than most of the other teams.
But still, you're focusing on Pope's 2nd year and acting like that's what he did both years here. Why won't you put any focus on year 1? Look at the wins in year 1 with a hobbled pg, lost Robinson, lost Kriisa and Car was maybe 80%.
Maybe you should go root for Arkansas, or duke, because you damn sure aren’t a UK fan, that's obvious.

It's also whining when they refuse to say anything positive at all and when we bring up the positive things, they respond with negative remarks that are meant to discredit the positives.

If he wasn't hired strictly because "he's one of us" it would be a lot easier to accept his shortcomings as the current head coach. You can’t blame the current issues (injuries, SEC strengthening, poor recruiting, and mismanagement of a roster construction) on his lack of success in his past jobs. If he played at Syracuse instead of UK and had the same exact resume and the same issues I think those making excuses for him and the cries of "stop bashing the guy" would go away.
