No juice, all squeeze. A selfish prick who only cares about himself and his sons. Hated him at FSU, can’t stand him now. He’s a phony and a fraud. He’ll use his health as a chance to save face and exit gracefully.
You mean his bladder cancer which led to a bladder removal surgery? I don’t think that’s “using” your health. It’s nontrivial.

But everyone knows how much you dislike him. I will say I agree that he only cares about his sons. I’ll never forget him cutting a press conference short after getting blown out at home 41-3 by his in-state rival for his team’s 10th straight loss to go to his son’s high school game. Zero self awareness or accountability.

Tough loss for the Buffalos. Finish with one conference win, three wins total. Someone’s seat is red hot.

Yeah, no one has ever been thought of as an NFL coach and then gone 3-9 the year after. Definitely not a coach I’ve heard of anyway.

Now the question is whether Deion responds or has an every worse year than 3-9 next year.

The problem with him and his arrogance is that he had better be successful as otherwise no one will put up with it. He was given a gift from the Gods of unreal athleticism and instead of being appreciative and grateful for it, he shoved it down people's throats pretending his s**t don't stink. Well, now the chickens have come home to roost

I highly doubt he will be the coach next year. He will bow out.

I don't really care one way or the other about Sanders, but wasn't he dealing with serious health issues going into the season? I have to imagine this was something of a lost year for him. The question is whether he will have the energy again to start over at Colorado now that his kids and first wave of players are gone.

And without all the hype momentum. When it comes down to it, his coaching is subpar. If he’s not getting the players, this season will just be in repeat until he’s done.

Yes. He was diagnosed with bladder cancer and had his bladder removed. For those not familiar with the procedure and after effects, it’s pretty terrible

Losing both on and off the field in Boulder.

The last sentence:
“The department is “still finalizing its numbers” for FY 2025, which ended in June 2025, but said that “it expects a ‘balanced’ budget” of $141M in revenues and expenses for that.”

Makes the $27m that much uglier.

The difference is roughly the size of the House back pay payments

Coach Sanders did not any of the top 14 players in Colorado. I wish NU was a bit more active there. I only see one NU offer out of the 14.

I fully expect someone besides Prime on the sideline when Colorado comes to Evanston. With his kids out of the program, results floundering, clear apathy to putting in the real work of recruiting, and health issues… I think Prime hangs it up.

He only recruited 11 guys in the class, though he does have 2-3 4 stars. Last year he brought in 50 transfers again, so it's not clear to me he's even overly bothering with HSers and is just going and getting transfers.

Of course, the other explanation is he's checked out and gonna leave.

It’s a little old now, but there was a video making the rounds where Sanders was basically bragging that he doesn’t do in-home visits. That’s… not a guy who wants to actually dig in and recruit, that’s a guy who thinks all the flowers should come his way by virtue of who he is. Tough to dig out of a hole operating that way.

I don't disagree. I have a post a page or so back analyzing the failure of Sanders basically coming down to his strategy (push everybody out and go full mercenary in the portal) was controversial three years ago when he rolled it out, but it turns out it's what half the top coaches in the country are doing, they're just doing it with expertise and success instead of flash alone. That's kind of it. That said, if you want to look at Sanders in the most favorable possible light, he has a small but reasonably talented little HS class for a program that is obviously not very interested in recruiting much in HS and just focusing on signing free agents.

I just need to make as many response posts as possible so the few of you that started slumming it down here on the free boards thanks to the signing day thread stick around for awhile.

Apple don't fall far from the tree
Actually in this case Shilo did fall kinda far from the tree. Neon Deion has his many many foibles, but he never committed the kind of outright vicious act that Shilo did that brought him all this debt. The debt isn’t cars and dumb ****, JT’s nearly entirely money he owes to a security guard at his high school thag he assaulted and permanently disabled. The family has been trying to hide all his money in outside business entities since then while he tries to shirk the ruling through bankruptcy. This motion is to exclude evidence of those resources existing.

My favorite Professor at Northwestern was Sociology Professor Charlie Moskos. Anybody remember him? His son was just featured (along with his business partners) on CBS 60 Minutes. He was my roomie at Northwestern. Great guy! As was his dad.

No-one (well, very few) become "sociologists". I don't even know if there is such a job.

It's a bachelors degree for Law school, Business school (if you too at lest a few econ classes), Journalism (if you took at least of few of those classes), etc.

I took Intro to Sociology by Professor Moskos, a welcome break from my ChemE curriculum. It turned out to be an interesting class beyond my expectations, mainly due to Moskos. And as easy as I had hoped, snagging that A.

Intro to Sociology with Charlie Moskos was the only easy elective I took at NU. Was also in McCormick and it was a vacation compared to real coursework.

It was also easily the worst course I took there. Moskos talked about his terrible “don’t ask don’t tell” policy and Billy Clinton like they were good things. 😂

Sociology is a BS degree, and he was a BS professor. Good riddance.

It can be, but not if it's done right. It is the study of how people and populations organize themselves and has very real applications for how businesses are organized and operate, government and politics, the military (Moskos' specialty), sports teams, or really, anywhere people are gathered and find themselves sorting themselves out.

What most call a Sociologist, I call a wannabe Economist who couldn’t do math or study a real science.

If any of my kids tell me they want to study Sociology in college then I will recommend they go to trade school. Full stop.

Not yet but I won’t let mine waste their college funds on a degree that has literally no ROI. No sane parent would!

If my kid tells me they want to spend $300-400K on a sociology, art history, exercise science or other nonsense degree (OSU reference for @EvanstonCat )… then I will let them know they’re on their own for the law / real master’s degree they’ll need to turn it into something useful.

Have you read the headlines? BS degrees are not landing jobs.

I’m also the kind of dad who would encourage my kids to trade school - and then to use their college funds to start a business - using said trade rather than waste four years of their lives and a small fortune.

Their college funds or your college funds? I got some news for you, telling your kids what they can or can’t study likely won’t end up well for either of you.
