This is Mitch’s last chance for a real break through August 28. Qualification for the team and medaling in World’s at 27 is bigly important for 28 Olympic team trials positioning. Helping get the weight qualified, winning the MF’ing gold in 28. His plate is full for the next 2+ years. Taking this summer off, if that is what he chooses, is pretty forward thinking to me.

I'll be honest and say I'm worried about Kasak. He looked fine until his quarterfinals match. I thought he was going to have to Med FF out of the match towards the end when he had numerous stoppages for injury time. Then, about 1 1/2 minutes into his semis match, he went down again and ended up defaulting. I was sitting very close to the point where he exited the platform and he had to be helped down by two guys. I sure hope he is OK, but he may need to take a break from wrestling for a while.
kasak is a tough kid... i am sure he will be fine. We have all been dinged up from time to time. Kids bounce back quickly!

I’ll believe you if you never said the ~same thing about the Altons or Robbie Howard or anybody else who turned out not to be fine. 😉

I'm starting to think we should just be happy he finishes his wrestling career this year at Penn state. He just may not be like most, or like how we would be if we were blessed enough to possess his talent and ability. He may genuinely not care to wrestle that much longer, regardless of how good he is. Or, he may have said " I've been doing international wrestling at one level or another for going on 4/5 years and need a summer to live my life". Time will tell.
Its a good thing that Bobby(hr)didnt sign Mitch. Contract clauses get sticky.

On a side note, what were beth and KD whispering about.

Water is wet
Google’s AI answer to: “which professionals would not say water is wet?”

“Here are the professionals who would likely say water is not wet:
  • Physicists and Surface Scientists: ..
  • Materials Scientists: ..
  • Chemists: ..
  • English Teachers / Linguists: ..”
So, please don’t jinx Zain again with that idiosyncratic “wet water” stuff! 😬

With @Hockeygod11 at a Korean BBQ all-you-can-eat place the other night, and PJ Duke was with a few teammates one table over. If he was going 70kg he'd have had a tough time eating there and making weight.
I’ll try and find the State Media video, but PJ and Mason Ellis were on with host Conner Pierce. They were talking about that BBQ place by Weiss (as well as a few more conspiracy theories as that is an Ellis thing). Last show of the season they said

This may be problematic in that Mitch and Levi may be at the same Olympic weight in 2028.

I'll look for it, but yeah, Ellis and Pierce were also there. The Korean BBQ place is pretty wild--$34 all you can eat and everything is cooked at the table. Easy to get carried away.

They mentioned a two hour time limit and they have maxed out the time every time. Per the show, it sounded like it was going to be PJs first time there. Does t sound like he is planning any weight cuts anytime soon

Yes. 92kg and 97kg are not being wrestled so if he wants to compete it has to be at heavy
He is also registered at 125kg for u23. Might be an awkward roster battle ahead. Cole has about 20 pounds on him for now.
