Not real thrilled about this trying to get a 7th year waiver
Pretty dang good backup center honestly. Def a grown *** man. Good block numbers too.
6, 6, and 2 blocks ain't bad for a 15-18 minute/game backup big.

Waivers seem handed out like candy anymore so that doesn't bother me. He has talent and is very strong and seems perfect fit as a backup center. Of course the injury history raises concerns.
The waiver doesn’t exactly look like a sure thing to me. The dude has already played in six seasons of CBB.

Can’t ask for much more when it comes to a bench piece. Great size and tons of experience. Assuming he can stay healthy and obtain his waiver, I like this pick up a lot.
Not confident at all that Pope is the right guy moving forward, but I think this team is actually a little underrated. Still not where it needs to be and not up to the elite standard, but solid.

OK, but should he be allowed to erase BOTH of those seasons? And even if you do wipe out both, that still leaves four full seasons that he played (he’s now seeking a 7th season).
i’m no longer sure what the criteria is for getting a waiver (and I’m not sure the NCAA does either now). But I see a clear problem with the theory that any season in which you played less than half your games doesn’t count. By that reasoning, a player could play forever as long as he kept it limited to just 10 or so each year.
He would still get a fifth for covid year.

Excellent pickup as a backup. I won’t like it as much if Moreno stays in the draft but at least he’s a competent defensive minded center.

IF he can be healthy I much prefer this over Marcio. We needed someone who can get physical in the paint in the SEC and he looks to fit the bill.
