Given the current state of college basketball being a very mature game, I really don't understand spending money on a reclass unless they really move the needle.

Makes sense for two reasons:
1) Testing Kelsey to see what he can do with it. If he bombs, doubt he sees it again. This is a ton of $$ - they may be 1.
2) Important to get your NIL & brand/coach attracting in the current climate and to gain momentum as a team that gets a real shot with any top player.
Tons of pressure on Kelsey. He's been given Fort Knox to buy the best portal team possible. He's got the number 1 portal player and another top 12 type kid. He better win - if they don't grab at least second in the ACC and a top 2-3 seed, year is a failure.
