Auburn, Arkansas, Alabama, and Florida can All pass State this weekend with a loss for State tomorrow. It is absolutely the most important game to date for State!

Will be interesting to see how McPherson does briefly. If he goes down again, this will be the last we see him this year. If he survives his appearance, could mean the difference in an average year and a really good year (even if we lose the game). I'm thinking 60 pitches is his limit.
It’s a very big game. We’ve got our #1 starter for a short start and our preseason FR AA reliever going. We should feel confident. We SHOULD have won the game last night. Duke 17ing Stone walks came back to haunt us.

A loss doesn’t totally kill you but it puts pressure on you to win a road series next week.
That said our pitching should be in much better shape than it was in the rubber game in Austin last week. And Auburn used two big bullpen arms in extended innings the last two nights.
If you’re a Top 8 caliber team, I feel like you don’t lose three series at home in the span of a month and a half. Need to get it done today.

If he looks good, face the order once. Then a tight as $h1t leash. Low pitch count either way.

If we get lucky and he's got control and gets us into the third with no damage, it's a success.
Bats need to show up today in scoring situations. Not quite enough of that yesterday.

Actually, not to be obtuse, but in 9 of Auburn's 11 league losses they've scored 3 runs or less.
Truth is we needed either a little better pitching or a little better hitting, or both.
Duke Stone convincing O’Connor to leave him in the game late came back to haunt us.
I do kinda 2nd guess how they handled Duke last night. In hindsight, we have a lot left in the bullpen and could have pulled him earlier as soon as issues arise and maybe won that game.
Really need to get out of the gates offensively today and not have to play tight the whole game again.
I'd like to know how many innings we've played from behind in the SEC this year. It feels like it's been an inordinate amount compared to our winning record.

The way we've handled the pitching staff as a whole this weekend has been questionable to say the least. BOC has pulled some headscratchers all weekend.
Currently State is in 8th in SEC 1 game ahead of Ole Miss and 1.5 ahead of Tennessee. If Tennessee, has the same record as State after next weekend, they will seed ahead of us in Hoover.
