All kidding aside, rewind to the off-season, we all expected a final 4 level team...then the Annabell doll comes to rupp, somebody breaks their leg in a game w Adam Sandler, and not a single thing seems to go our way all season, or in recruiting in the off season. I was actually trimming trees, listening to KSR on podcast the next night, and just got a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. Nothing has gone right since.
When Pope was first hired, it was a bad hire because he was unproven, but being one of our own, we all gave him a chance. Then, he literally went from, bad hire to a guy who said all the right things and had us excited and cautiously optimistic...then Annabelle shows up, and the wheels completely come off, he suddenly can't speak publicly at all, and UK basketball and recruiting becomes a complete cluster?
Is it def a curse? Prob not....who knows? All I'm saying, is it's pretty coincidental, and at the very least, it couldn't hurt. Anybody have access to the building? Somebody sage that place ASAP. Anything is worth a try at this point!
