That's not how message boards work duffus. When you post something it's up for anyone to read and comment on. Otherwise you can private message someone.
Okay doosh bag. If you specifically respond to someone, it’s to them. I don’t need you to teach me how to message board. I’ve been doing it a lot longer than you I bet.

How about you compare Cal's last two to Popes first two...that's a more accurate time frame/environment. Things are a lot different in 2024 verses 2010.
lol because they aren’t comparable at all. We could compare Cals recruiting now to Popes. Pope is getting rocked, by EVERYONE.

Seriously? You don’t think Cal would say can I have the portal and NIL? Damn you for making me defend that punk.
Cal has had the portal and NIL at his disposal since he left UK, wtf are you talking about?

What has he done with it? He had the best pg in the country last year with a dominant roster and no injuries, yet he got wrecked. Made it 1 round further.

He also lost at home to Pope.

Bottom line is, Cal benefitted from the lockout. He doesn't get Jones, Miller and Lamb back without that lockout.

Heck, Cal lost in 2010, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2022 and 2024 with dominant rosters. Got upset by teams with half the talent.

Try again.

Huh? Comparing Cal's last two years at UK vs Pope's first 2, makes a heck of a lot more sense than comparing Cal's first 2.

Why don't you compare Cal's 2 years at Arkansas to Pope's 2 at UK. You probably don't want to do that either.

You basically don't want to do anything that doesn't fit your bs narrative.

Isn’t that the pot calling the kettle black? I did compare, I said compare recruiting. Im not defending Cal as much as I am pointing out how bad Pope is.

HE DIDNT HAVE IT HIS 3RD YEAR HERE GENIUS!! That is specifically what we were talking about. I notice he has the number one recruiting class in the nation. You were saying? Quit freaking out and have a discussion. Got damn, like arguing with my kid.

agree he benefited from the lockout. So did everyone else. Where was Miller going?

Sure Phil, sure. You are wrong and won’t admit it. What’s the purpose of the quote function if you aren’t speaking to that specific person? It’s okay, I’ll wait for you to duck and dodge and be wrong, again. You don’t want this smoke. Promise you.

And Cal got rocked by the likes of Saint Peters, Robert Morris, Evansville and Oakland, all while having more NBA talent than any other program in history. None of Pope's losses come anywhere close to being as bad as any of those.

So you don't understand the purpose of the quote function either? You are in worse shape than I thought. The quote function is so you can add context to what you are currently commenting on. It doesn't necessarily have to mean you are responding solely to that person. Maybe you struggle arguing with your kid because he's smarter than you.

And you completely ignored the point of the conversation, which honestly doesn't surprise me because I don't think you are able to focus well. We were discussing how people bash Pope far worse than Cal when Cal had significantly worse seasons than Pope. I guess you forgot that you were defending Cal once I proved to you how much worse he was.

But you are defending Cal, why else would you compare Cal's first 2 years here to Pope's? That's such a strange comparison, there's only one reason to do that.
If that version of Cal still existed, we wouldn't have Pope, we would still have Cal.

I don’t know. Because maybe popes only been here 2 years? And there is not defending cal against pope. It is what is.

Also, instead of making up my posts. Look at my posts. I was no defender of Cal. I’m a defender of UK. No coach is bigger than the program, Cal forgot that. Pope is about to learn about it when he finally gets canned.

Of course you would talk about his 3rd year here, but you don't want to talk about the lockout he benefited from.

Also, Cal always has the #1 recruiting class, so what. All he's done is crap his pants with the most talent, with the exception of 2012, when the lockout brought 3 players back.

Oh I forgot, you said you weren't defending Cal, even though you appear to be working really hard to defend Cal. Weird.

No, Pope is most likely not winning a title in year 3 here, but Cal ain’t winning a title in year 3 at Arkansas either. It’s much harder to win a title in today's game than it was in 2012, that's not debatable.

I'm not sure why we would compare anything from 2026 to 2012.

Wouldn't it make more sense to compare Pope’s first 2 years to Cal's last 2 years at UK, or better yet, his first 2 years at Arkansas?

Jesus, Cal went 38-2 in 2012, he had a generational talent and players that returned due to the NBA lockout, there aren't too many teams in the history of college ball that can compare to that year, but there are several reasons why Cal can't even duplicate that season.

I personally do no care about Cal. I want him gone and he is. The fact people are trying to say Pope is better is asinine. Pope will never sniff the HOF. Maybe the Hall of Losers.

Nah, I'm no Pope fan, I'm just giving him a fair shake. If I had to bet, I'd say he's out after next season. He's in over his head, but I want to be wrong.
I think it's ridiculous to trash the guy given all the things that went wrong this year.
But it's funny how everyone has dismissed Pope’s first year here and now say it was garbage, but nobody was saying that before.
Too many of you guys can't handle adversity.

Because it's a ridiculously stupid comparison.
It would be different if the coach from that 2012 team was anywhere close to doing what he did in 2012, but his performances the last 5 years proves the comparison you are trying to make, is a joke and you know it.

Now you can finally talk reasonable? I dig that. Injuries do occur but maybe it’s coaching and what not or lack of? Plus, it’s no one’s fault he doesn’t recruit backup PGs that are worth a ****. Sans maybe this year.

I've been saying the same things on here for 6 months and it's not just me. Most of the guys being called "Popette's" aren't Pope "fans", we're just staying calm and hoping for the best, even though we all fully admit that Mitch made a mistake and Pope is most likely in over his head.
