I doubt USC will be a host and they certainly won’t be a top 8 seed. They are 0-8 vs quad 1 teams. Kansas will likely be a top 8 seed for big 12 representation and Coastal will be a host as well.

I would *love* to be matched with Kansas for our Super. They're having their best year ever, sure, but they'd be stunned by The Dude.

4. Texas (29. Oklahoma State)
5. North Carolina (28. Tennessee)
6. Mississippi State (27. Virginia)
7. Florida State (26. Jacksonville State)
8. Kansas (25. Arkansas)

9. Oregon State (24. USC)
10. Auburn (23. West Virginia)
11. Florida (22 Cincy)

Why are so many people saying Kansas will be a top 8 seed? Their RPI is #15, they don't play in one of the big 2 conferences (their conference is closer to #5 Sunbelt than it is to #2 ACC), they've played a weak schedule and a weak non-conference schedule.

Note that 17-32 don't have to go to the 1-16 sites exactly, but in groups of 4. So in your example, they would probably send Arizona State to UCLA to cut down on travel.

So the 1-4 seeds will get the 29-32 seeds, etc., but it could be in any order.

First time hosts or first time in a while hosts are always a red flag for me. Feel like they have a higher likelihood of not even getting to a Super.

Largely a function of them leading the Big 12 by four games. They’re fairly safe as a host but I do think they need to finish strong to be a Top 8.

That’s my understanding too. Believe they allow for this to avoid two teams in the same conference being paired for a regional plus to try and limit big geographic disadvantages where they can. They don’t want to send Southern Cal to Gainesville unless they absolutely have to.
