Actually, it's not that basic. It's an exception to the rule because NCAA is an abbreviation. For instance, if you don't use the abbreviation and say National Collegiate Athletic Association title, AN would be incorrect and A would be correct.And just for the record, it's "an" NCAA title, not "a" NCAA title . . .
