If defense is limited and they call fouls which should be called then that means more scoring which is a more exciting product, which they should want. If teams want to foul out all of their players to hang on to the old way of things then let them foul out and eventually get cut from the league.
Do you really want to watch all star type games all season? 140-130 is not exciting.

I don’t accept it is either pistons bad boys or else all star game defense. But accepting that false choice, I will opt for scoring and good passing rather than watching people grab, hit, claw, hip check, and shove each other.
All they need to do is call the more blatant calls and it will be fine. No need to call everything like they’re doing in the preseason.

Speaking only for myself, I’ll probably watch less than I did last year. No particular reason for it. When CC first went pro, I was very interested in how she’d do, and watched pretty much every game I could. I might catch a game if it’s on, but the more years pass since she was at Iowa, the less compelled I feel to watch every game, if that makes any sense. On the other hand, still catch every Iowa WBB game.

Do you think the exhibition games were called to tight? I don't, there has to be a point between allowing mugging and calling touch fouls... it's not all one or all the other...
The other point is limiting the amount of injuries, something coaches and players have discussed.

So which non-blatant calls do you want to see stay in the game?
Some hand checking and pushing off is fine. I also think many of the calls on drives to the basket or post ups aren’t really fouls. They blow the whistle almost automatically on those types of plays. I also hate when they bail an offensive player out when they force a dumb shot hoping for a foul. I think basketball in general calls too many fouls these days.

I think 112 free throws in two games is a bit excessive.

We can all agree on the bail out calls, you drive into 3 ppl that's on you.
The players will adjust to how the game is called IF you try to keep it consistant..
If you like bully ball try watching men's lacrosse but most ppl don't want to watch it. The players don't want it, the coaches don't want it and the league is finally doing something about it.

I disagree that hand checking and pushing are fine, especially when bringing the ball up the court and initiating the offense. I do agree that some of the whistles were a little quick on some post up plays. But so long as the whistle is consistent, I will take it over what they were allowing previously.

Hand-checks impede freedom of movement and ruin the game. They're not ticky-tacky infractions. The most detrimental hand-check is not the palm push, it's the opposite hand hitch-hike. See the video below of Nastia Cloud blowing up CC's attempt at an end of game score -

I think the overly physical play has been encouraged by the current commissioner. The commercials of them throwing girls to the floor, etc were shown constantly. I'm fine with good physical play, but it's gotten way way out of hand. Look, when Jordan was breaking into the league we all know what it was like for him, especially playing against the Pistons. And honestly the league never really did anything about it the Pistons just got a little old and beat up and the Bulls just elevated their game. A lot of those games were pretty low scoring and not always pretty to watch, but Jordan was just able to elevate his game above the ugliness. This is a big year for CC. I'm still not sure this coach likes the way she plays. She seems to say the right things but her style of play says another.

Las Vegas and Indiana..both have an average ticket price of $52.
Is there a website that publishes that information? I’m not finding it thus far. This is what Google says.

Indiana Fever ticket prices for the 2026 season are exceptionally high due to immense demand, with average ticket prices reaching roughly $450, according to Vivid Seats. Upper-level tickets often start at over $100, with prime lower-bowl seats frequently exceeding $400. Premium, high-demand, or opening games can see prices significantly higher. [1, 2, 3]
Key 2026 Ticket Price Trends
  • Average Ticket Price: Reports indicate average prices around $450.
  • Opening/Premium Games: The home opener and games against top opponents can have, or exceed, a $487 get-in price.
  • General Admission/Nosebleeds: Even upper-level or less-desirable seats can start at over $100–$255, according to Vivid Seats and Ticketmaster.
  • Lower Bowl/Premium Seats: Lower-bowl seats generally start around $400, while premium courtside seats can exceed $1,000 to over $4,000.
  • Venue: Tickets for home games at Gainbridge Fieldhouse can be found with varying prices, though the team's high valuation ($370M) and revenue ($32M) highlight the high demand. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

We were talking about sell outs ....which is going to be based on face value of the ticket.

Has nothing to do with the secondary market.

Caitlin's impact is so big that she's causing games she's not even playing in to be moved to bigger arenas.

Well, again, you can thank Caitlin for causing this as well.
Look, this league was garbage until CC entered the arena and changed everything.
Deal with it haters.

She is responsible for the unsold fever tickets?

So why the unsold tickets? I looked around and couldn't actually get an answer for what caused the fans to rebel. Can someone enlighten me? Thx

Nobody is rebelling...it would have been damn near impossible for her popularity to maintain the fever pitch levels it was her first season.

Her first season was a perfect storm...a few weeks after the F4 she is the #1 pick and then a short time later began one of the best rookie seasons in WNBA history. But then an entire season of NCAA women's hoops happened....new stars emerged...so even last year there was a slight decline in ticket demand and prices...and then injuries and missed games piled up and now a lot of those people that were dialed in to her every game or practice tidbit have lost some of that fire for her content. It is in no way a knock against her, it's just human nature and people have such short attention spans that they move on at the first sign of inactivity.

Tell that to Capital One.
