My Gawd, he made the sweet 16 and the 2nd round, while that's not 1996 good, it certainly isn't 9-16 bad. Cal actually went 9-16 and was treated a hell of a lot better than Pope is being treated right now.

Going into year three with maybe the worst recruiting ever. Expecting him to step down is unreasonable I agree. But he should of been fired already. It's not about getting blown out by Tennessee in the sweet sixteen or getting blown out in the round of 32 by Iowa State. It's the trajectory. I guess we get blown out in the first game of the tournament this year if we even make it.
Anybody wanting him a second longer is crazy. UK is living in 1996. The rest of college basketball is living in 2026. We are thirty years behind.

For me it’s not about the last 2 years. It’s about recruiting for next year. We got zero hs recruits until he hired mo Williams and got his son. When we see u6 , ut and dUKe loading up and we seem to be missing on everyone,, that’s concerning.

They literally only care about one thing: recruiting classes. Otherwise, there's nothing for them to talk about in the off-season. Even if Pope were winning a s-hit ton of games with mediocre players, they'd be crying that the recruiting sucked.

That is simply not true. We care about the future and that means getting better players. I hope Pope can win with the players we have but I’d be more confident if our recruiting was better. Sorry if that upsets some of you.

Maybe if he didn’t get outcoached every other game this past year and blow $20 million on a mid roster, people would be more patient. You then add the worst recruiting effort since Gillespie and you can see why people are furious. Way below UK basketball standards and it’s not even close
