The kid works 40 hours. My friend is in his late 60s and employs several of the kid’s family. My money would bet his will gives the business to that family. No heirs.Lol. And that now 17 year old will be 25, working for $51,000, 90 hours a week. "But you'll eat, despite your broken down body". It's the American dream, to eat.
Have a relative that uses that same line on naive kids. Even slips them a $50 every couple months and boy do they eat it up. They don't realize at some point their body is broken and they have no promotion potential.
Worried about cartels in Nebraska, again lol.
****, I have been looking for my Dad all my life! Maybe it is him.The kid works 40 hours. My friend is in his late 60s and employs several of the kid’s family. My money would bet his will gives the business to that family. No heirs.
Guessing it has to do with playing little brother to the tee sippers and Aggies for so long. Tech was a place anyone could get into- the “safety” choice
A&M and the tea sippers reign. Tech is the place you go when the others say no.
The ring is a big deal in Texas
Opens lots of doors and Boardrooms
Your whole premise was that there are good paying jobs out there if people want to work... and then you use an example of a very rich bachelor overpaying a kid who he is going to give his inheritance to? So, a scenario that doesn't apply to 99.9% of people? Ok.The kid works 40 hours. My friend is in his late 60s and employs several of the kid’s family. I really do think online gambling should be outlawed. It just makes it too easy for people to go down this path.
We both know its never going to happen, but the word would be a better place for sure. I could list a ton of reasons as to why, but at the end of the day, never gonna happen.
I also know a ton of people probably do it and have no issues, laying a twenty spot on Saturday evening as I tune into a MWC just to make it more interesting sounds fun, and for me I could stop there, but to many people can't.
Wait, is this seriously a Texas A&M grad trying to group themselves into big brother status with Texas? And trying to throw shade at TT with UT for being a safety school?
Texas A&M...the consummate definition of UT's little brother. A known diploma mill with ridiculously low admission requirements and high acceptance rates. Wants to try to ride Texas' coattails to talk down to TT?

Apparently the Aggie cult has no limits.
Every plant in Yankton SD is trying to hire people at $18/hour with no prior experience or qualifications. One has even discontinued drug testing. $18/hour. Health and retirement benefits. I suspect Norfolk and Sioux City are the same.Your whole premise was that there are good paying jobs out there if people want to work... and then you use an example of a very rich bachelor overpaying a kid who he is going to give his inheritance to? Did Irving Fryer throw the 1984 Orange Bowl.did sorsby throw the N game?
No, but he did not catch a gimme even ol' Deano could have caught.Did Irving Fryer throw the 1984 Orange Bowl.
tyler lockett dropped a td pass in manhattan that would have beaten #4 auburn. it happens. No, but he did not catch a gimme even ol' Deano could have caught.
The fact he did serious time for fraud later only adds to it all.
Not true at all, unless you're very specifically talking about the flavor of pop music you like.modern music does indeed suck
Most people tend to over value the college they attended. There are probably 20 schools where the name carries weight and will open doors. The Ivy's, MIT, Stanford, Northwestern, Cal Poly...then a few that carry weight BUT only certain colleges of that University. Engineering and Computer science at Illinois, Purdue, Iowa State ect...The ring is a big deal and opens a lot of doors and boardrooms with other Aggie cultists only. Don't kid yourself. The rest of the state laughs at you.
Except in veterinary medicine. You're good at that.

The rest are just helpful if the person doing the hiring went to your school, like you said.
I could totally see that.Yeah, but not on the same level as aTm.
100% but the Aggies never got that memo. In their mind, they are the Alabama of football programs and Ivy of academics.
Funny, I've actually been in hiring meetings at a company where having an A&M degree was viewed as a negative from the applicants. Not from a UT grad hiring manager either. They really are viewed as being in some weirdo cult by people who aren't in their weirdo cult.
Don’t worry. It’s the pussies that didn’t play a sport that think no mistakes should ever be made.tyler lockett dropped a td pass in manhattan that would have beaten #4 auburn. it happens.
You wouldn’t know because you didn’t attend any of those schools. I did and so did my peers.the doors opened and job offers were amazing. I went to UNO for 2 years before transferring- night and day experience- not remotely close. Most people tend to over value the college they attended. WrongNo you didn't.
Unless the person hiring was also an Aggie or it was in veterinary medicine, the opportunities were no different than most any other state school anywhere else. There are a few state schools that do open doors. A&M isn't one of them. It isn't even #1 in the state.
Really? There's a big difference between UNO and Texas A&M? Gee, please tell us more.
Good to see Aggie cult delusion is still alive and well.

When you’re in marketing/ management/ sales relationships with people who can’t hire are really helpful for your career and income. Hiring is important but it’s low hanging fruit. It was a smorgasborg of employers hiring my classmates. Had several work for international firms (I did also) as well as some cool start ups and Fortune 100s etc
Wrong
A&M ranked first in Texas three years running according to the Journal and others . I’m trusting the Wall Street Journal before you.
My UNO buddies- many of them struggled to find good jobs back in the 80s- meanwhile I had multiple offers from several Fortune 1000s right out of school. Many of my UNO buddies were underemployed - they didn’t really have much of a leg up on anyone. Afterwards always had recruiters calling me etc. Well before the internet days. Felt very fortunate to have found A&M.

I’ve hired over 400 professionals for two companies I owned - ran. We had the lowest turnover in our segment and we had great luck following a couple of schools - referrals etc. Before algorithms we kind of had our own pattern approach and it worked great in a tough to find- hire field.I work at a Fortune 500 Oil & Gas company.
I can vouch for A&M education carrying weight in this specific industry.
That said, its more of a "foot in the door" advantage, more likely to be considered for internships due to heavier recruiting.
I have never seen a situation where among two equal resumes of employees with several years of experience, the college they attended was the deciding factor.

I'll add that when I attended HS in Houston, A&M and Texas were viewed pretty equally. Both, at the time, required finishing in top 10% of your high school in GPA/ACT for automatic acceptance. It was my experience that the obviously liberal kids went to UT and the more conservative, Math & Science aimed kids went to A&M.
TTU did have a stigma for being the 5th choice school, as SMU & TCU were also put on a pedestal. Most of the kids I knew who attended Tech/Baylor were band nerds that weren't in advanced placement courses.
YesGosh, A&M found some obscure ranking based on God-knows-what (and probably written by a fellow Aggie) and turned it into an article on their own website so their members can spread it around like it's the gospel? How very cult-like of you.
Meanwhile, in the real world, here are links to the first 3 sites with actual rankings on google. And infinite more beyond that.

Everyone knows A&M ranks behind Texas and is no more special than most any state school anywhere, except A&M cult members because they're all delusional. Lying to yourselves and others about it doesn't make it true. But that's the Aggie way. Always has been and always will be.
I don't have a dog in this fight, I didn't go to either. Just another A&M cultist getting called out for your delusion and propaganda. It's so easy, I'm frankly bored of talking about it with you.

just like I said A&M and Texas lead- tech is the safety choice if you aren’t in top 10 percent in your class.

YepTexas leads. A&M and Tech are both pretty much safety schools.
This may be the one time I actually wish there were some Texass posters here so they could laugh at an Aggie trying to ride their coattails as top in the state and big brother.
Eh, who am I kidding, they see it every day so their used to it.

Any article that does not have Peru State College in the top 10 list of schools as far as academics, prestige, and influence should NOT be taken seriously.

Could you imagine him surrounded by breakfast tacos and churros???I don't believe it for a second. That would be totally out of character for him.
