#1. The state of Kentucky can afford elite transfer portal and high school players. Pope just can't land them.
#2. Pope struggles to retain players.
#3. Pope went 0/14 on top 20 recruits this cycle.
#4. Pope has not landed a primary portal target in two straight cycles.
#5. Pope is still averaging a 64% winning percentage over the course of 11 seasons of being a head coach.
#6. Pope finished 9th in the SEC last year, and 6th in the SEC two years ago.
Tell me again, why is this guy the head coach at Kentucky?

Most of it is pulled back. 2 mil was conditional for Stokes- theyd have to repledge it. Other funds came from other programs that has been returned. This recruiting is a wash. We can’t even get a reserve 5, a decent 3, and a reserve PG. Pope has built a team that nobody of high caliber wants to play with. Pope looked like a fool talking about beating Arkansas and comparing himself to Cal. He looked like a fool with Moe Williams tweeting stokes, he looked like a fool going to Israel, and he’s looking like a fool today.

We have two backup PGs in Morton and Mason Williams. Technically 3 backups since Wilkins would be PG2.
Wilkens will be the 2. Morton is forced to be backup as he is a natural 2. Willians is a mid tier recruit that is a freshman. Yeah nothing.Louisville is over reacting like UK last year. They’re building a front court they didn’t have but leaving themselves vulnerable at guard and shooting. Maybe top 15 but that’s their ceiling.
