Last weekend or so, BOC said post game, that we had a come to Jesus (my words) meeting with the team, ...we went to a 2 Strike
batting plan (not positive what that meant) but we have played better since. Had too many strike outs.

we definitely had a 2 strike plan so far this weekend. Take or miss strike 3. Over 30 times in 2 games. Milewski in the 9th? Good grief. Fastball split the middle of the plate and he looked like it was turnip greens on his dinner plate! That is a pitch that can improve your BA if you make contact. But he didn’t think about swinging at it. They need to go to the plate with half their brain tied behind their back so they quit thinking and just hit!

We had 19 strikeouts last night against TX. We still strike out way too much. They are apparently taught the MLB upper cut swing. Let's play real baseball like the first 100 years, and hit line drives, hit and run, advanced runners, etc.

Read my prior post, and did you actually play baseball?

I've noticed a few times that BOC greeted some of our strike out victims before they got to the dugout in a not-so-nice way.

I hate those two sweeps, but it's just SEC baseball. Look at these first two games against Texas. Results swing on one or two plays many times.

I look at it this way. Coming into Texas we were 13-8. That's equivalent to winning 2 of 3 in six series and losing 2 of three in the other. That's a damn good result and we should be happy.

Without McPherson, a Super Regional is about as far as we go this year. Which would be pretty good IMO for a HC's first year.

One of the first computers I ever had, I had a stats based game that had 20 of the best all star teams, and twenty of then best ever MLB teams of all time. It also included for fun, I think it was the 58 or 59 Senators, widely considered the worst MLB team ever at the time. I set up a 10 game series for them with the 29 Yankees, at the time considered the best team of all time. I let the computer call it all, I had no input. The 29 Yankees won 8 and lost 2. Baseball is a funny game.

Hope you are wrong, yes, we miss McPherson, but our over-all pitching has been good. My question is our defense in the infield, it's our weakness,

No we really shouldn’t. This team should be better than 13-8 and we should aspire to be better than 13-8. The goal is to win championships and play in the CWS regularly.

I've got bro love for ya Pat, but I just can't be bothered to black cloud every good thing in life because it's not quite perfect enough.

We're having a very good season and if some things fall right we have a chance at a natty this year. The sun is shining.

Not black clouding anything. It is a good season. But it can be better. The potential of this baseball program coach & team is much higher than a lot of MSU fans realize.

The potential of our "program" is tremendous, but sometimes a CWS Championship just within grasp is derailed by a play that is out of our control. Just ask Gene Morgan. That team was the most talented collection of college players to ever step foot on either Rosenblatt or Schwab turf and yet failed to complete the mission. Should have been Polk's first and MSU's second CWS Championship. I have faith in BOC. I still stand by my prediction that he will have us our 2nd CWS Championship within 5 years or less.

honestly, if this team ever really puts it all together & gets hot at the right time, that 2nd national championship could be a couple of months from now. But I agree, probably within 5 years.
