Do you actually know enough about Santos to determine that? Is it possible that after seeing him in person it was decided he was not actually any better than Potter?
That might be even worse. It would be utter incompetence to fly overseas & spend all that time & $ on recruiting a player when you’re not even sure if he’s good enough to be in the rotation.

He should be able to tell by watching film whether or not someone is good enough to even warrant a visit. That’s day 1 stuff & another indictment on his ability to recruit, if true. In fact, making that trip, during a war no less, should leave zero doubt that Pope wanted him & went to extreme lengths to prove it.

It would be beyond humiliating for Wade to win this recruitment without a visit after Pope flew there to close the deal. It would be a failure of epic proportions.

And, I’m someone who would love for Pope to figure it out. I’d be thrilled to have a good coach who wants to be here 20+ years. I just don’t see that happening based on the body of work so far. Recognizing it doesn’t make you a bad fan.

Potter shot the 3 well at Miami of Ohio. So who knows
Maybe he improved a lot over the season while practicing against Garrison, Moreno, and Mo. However, he only averaged 17 minutes and less than a block a game in the MAC. That is concerning.

Majority was dunking on him even visiting him now you're mad we're not getting him lol. This board isn't serious.

I think it is more of a case where people are extremely concerned that we can't even close the deal on a guy most of us don't even want. We can't get our Option A, B, or C. Now it appears we are struggling even with Option G.

Should definitely have been a better blocker at 7 feet

I just don’t know what think anymore. Flying all the way to Israel to see a backup and don’t get him? I mean, if you’re going to miss, at least go for the very best players.
Do you consider this an objective post, even when no one here has any actual insight? Pope needs a backup and a big body, not a starter. He makes a big deal out of the guy to attempt to land his older backup. Before his move, NO ONE here knew of this dude before Popr makes the trip. Now, you’re an expert on these things. Whether LSU was involved before or not, we don’t know. Whether LSU was the leader and Pope attempted the steal, we don’t know. Whether LSU is offering a starting role versus a rotational piece, we don’t know. All of that does not stop you from negative conclusions. Why? What is your motivation?

It would be more incompetent to spend even more money and a roster spot on a guy if you are not sure about him.

Wade hasn't really won anything until Santos at least shows he's worth having. If he turns out to be a flop Wade looks worse for taking a guy he didn't know more about. We don't know if LSU was willing to pay more than we deemed him to be worth at this point either.

You know, everyone’s entitled to act stupid once in a while, but you really abuse the privilege.
Awesome. You’ve clearly demonstrated your incredible dominance and exhibited why you are such a success. We need to thank you because NIL at UK surely exists because of studs like you. Don’t stop. I am sure you have more zingers. By the way, if you are entitled to something, it is a right, not a privilege. But, still awesome.

I never claimed to be an expert on him or any other player junior. I just know Israel is a long way to go to see a guy score ZERO points. My motivation is to see UK back at the top of college BB. Sorry if that upsets you. Oh wait… no I’m not.

Well, there is this:

The University of Kentucky men’s basketball team has never finished last in the SEC regular season, but there have been seasons when they were at the bottom of the standings. The most recent example was 1922–23, when Kentucky posted a 3–10 record in SEC play and finished 18th in the conference

This came from Google but not sure how we finished 18th when there were only 14 teams in the SEC? LOL
There wasn't an SEC in 1923

Again. The guy had a bad game. Like I am sure you did when you played competitive ball. He averaged 7-8 points in a league considered better than the SEC.

How cliche for the baby crybabies to claim they have higher expectations. Should UK do well next year, these admittedly ignorant criticisms will not be something you promote. It’s easy to be an a$$ and then say you’ll gladly eat crow. Please, don’t offer that cliche too.

40% 3 point shooter who can't guard a sawhorse

Pope would have to pay him and his team. I'm not saying he didn't whiff but the guy will never be a starter, and even in backup minutes, he has the potential to be a huge liability

If Pope wants him great, but if LSU is going to throw crazy money at him, its not worth it

Was it the Southern Conference back then?

Just maybe after seeing his 0 performance Pope didn’t offer as much. Pope knows his system and proved in his first year how to pick players for it. He evaluates talent well. Maybe Brown got a call from the agent of the Iowa State player. For a non starter role there are plenty of role players. Uk fan makes common players great when they hit the board based on nothing but highlight tapes. At least we have a coach that wants to see them play.

Reported, or rumored?
If he did offer him, did he promise him the kind of playing time he can get at LSU? Did he promise he'd start? Who offered the most $?
These things matter, in real life. Not so much here.
LSU offering almost twice as much and more than we have ever paid a player. LSU is way overpaying.

Thankfully we have awesome fans like you to tell us how to act and support the team.🙄
