Renderings for new Convention Center at the Meadowlands....to include a 6,000 seat arena.

Hmm....

I don't recall if 6,000 met the BE minimums, but forward thinking might see us considering this for some (all?) home games in the future, as it is more "right sized" than a Pro arena...plus, if NIL continues on its current trajectory, we will likely want/need a smaller arena. And if Walsh is not deemed to be an option.....?

Would be somewhat ironic....ghosts of BE seasons past....

Yes, it can and based on what is happening with yearly team turnover there is not much reason for them to come out anymore.

No hot dog more overrated than ruts hut. It is perfectly fine imo. Doesnt hold a candle to maxs in long branch, the windmill or many hotdog stands on the boardwalks.
Max's is a shadow of its former self imo

Windmill still delivering

I actually don’t think it’s a terrible idea, if done creatively, for 1-2 games a year. Maybe against another local team, like St Peter’s or Monmouth. This isn’t the Meadowlands of old. There’s plenty of opportunities for pre and post game programming, including about 100 things that might be more appealing to a student than is found in downtown Newark.

Yes but is a little bit inconvenient to swing by Long Branch on the way to the Meadowlands don't you think? Also, besides the Rippers Rutt's has other great food if dogs are not your thing!

Love Hirams. And the stand that used to ve on the same block was good too.
Callahan’s! Long time rival.
They closed that location tried another…bit of a family feud I think…went the food truck route…now has a location in Westwood, “1951 Originals”.

Another good one, Johnny and Hanges, though not quite as good in its reincarnation, still good. In Fairlawn right near the recently-demolished Nabisco plant (RIP).
Plus I’m biased…it’s pronounced like my daughter’s name, Angie, with an “H” in front of course! Lol

Getting back to the 6000 seat arena: wouldn't it be ironic if a reason for not down sizing (A-10 or Patriot League) is that we would have no place to play?

used to get a hot dog and a CBFO at one of those places. Only place I can remember who had an acronym for a cheeseburger with fried onions.

One of the great things about Jersey…Good hot dog places.

And for the summer crew, Hot Dog Tommy’s in Cape May. A literal hole in the wall…with Tommy wearing the hot dog hat.

All things must come to an end, and Tommy sold the place; I haven’t been for a while, but others tell me the new owner runs it the same way.
And he should…would always have a line down the side of the building almost to the beach!

It’s pretty comparable, but Tommy was a show In and of himself!

Went there yesterday
When I was young I worked at the one in Newark with my dad, Eventually after my father retired from his real job he started to work in various Jimmy Buff's in Essex country and elsewhere.

Nothing comes close to a Jimmy Buff's combo. But it you saw the amount of grease they are cooked in you might never want to try one. In the back of the stores there are multiple 55 gallon drums of lard. They are in a refrigerated area and when used you have to saw the fat to get it on the cooking surface.

Jimmy Buffs is good but THE BEST hotdogs on the planet were from Galloping Hill Restaurant, 5 points in Union.

However, I say "were" because the cheap owner has recently decided after decades and decades of being the best hotdog ever, to dramatically downgrade the buns (which were exquisite), to basically grocery store quality (garbage). TRAGIC.

Tommy, for Italian in Elizabeth , steps away Jerry’s for chili dogs. IMHO Tommy’s better Italian than Jimmy Buff’s

What’s the famous Italian hot dog place in Newark? That’s the one I haven’t tried but need to. I saw it years ago on one of those food network/travel channel shows.
