Wife and I are keeping the news in our pocket right now. I want to scream it to everyone but I’m remaining cautiously optimistic. We’re only 6 weeks in. We’ve been trying for three years naturally and with fertility meds. Our second IUI session so far has been successful. I’ve lived vicariously through friends/family and doted over their kids for years. The weight we have both carried for the last three years feels like it’s gone. My wife is a supreme achiever (I’ve yet to see her not achieve a goal) and watching her mental struggles with it has been heartbreaking. I’m putting it here because of the anonymity and I have to tell someone. I hope everything comes to fruition. I’ve soo much I want to teach and share with a child of my own. I want to do all the things I’ve been soo jealous of for years. I had to get this out somewhere.

One of the funniest memes I ever saw was of a pregnant woman surrounding by other women all with their hands on her belly.

It said “why is it the women never rub your dick and say good job”

Congrats and prayers for a safe and successful pregnancy!

Goodbye GIF

Just kidding. You’ll still have a few minutes of spare time once the baby arrives. (Per month). ;-)

I really appreciate all the well wishes! Her second ultrasound was yesterday. Everything looked good. The little heartbeat detected. My anxiety waned a little. I cannot overstate how amazing our experience with CNY fertility out of Norfolk has been. We chose them because of cost concerns. I was trepid about the decision but they have been absolutely wonderful.

My wife went to Hawaii last week with her Mom (MIL’s employer annual company trip). We cautiously broke the news to her parents before they left as the MIL would be suspicious about my wife not drinking. MIL was over the moon. She has not been subtle at all the last few years about wanting a grandchild. What surprised me was my stoic FIL’s reaction. Per the MIL, he will not shut up about them going to be grandparents. When we were leaving, dude turned the handshake into a hug. Thats never happened before, always a handshake or a fist bump. Whispered in my ear how happy and proud my folks would be. Lost my Mom at 21, father at 25. Lovable jerk broke me down.

I’ve got all the fishing trips mapped out for the remainder of this year. Poured some parking blocks for skating in the neighborhood. Unfortunately my mini ramp plans for the back yard have been axed.

That last part....damn....got a little dusty in here reading that.

So awesome to read. Can't imagine how amazing that must have felt for you.

Thrilled for you, friend. It's the best adventure of them all. I have a 2 year old girl and she's amazing in every way.

Saw a couple of onesies in a "novelty" shop years ago that I still laugh about today:

First one said: "I'm proof my momma puts out"

Second said: "Daddy drinks because I cry"

The second one is absolutely terrible....but made me laugh and still does. And yes, I know that's one of the many "cons" on the pros/cons list that St. Peter will have for me at the gates of Heaven, LOL

First OB appointment was yesterday. Everything is still gravy. Doppler found the heartbeat. Bloodwork for the wife and whatnot, midwife consult. We tell the rest of the family this weekend at the lake.

Thank you! We’ve kept the information close to the vest except for the In-laws. This has been my outlet.
