What happens if Moreno stays in the draft?

What if Moreno stays in the draft because he doesn't want to deal with next years teams and potential perception?

I know a lot of people have mixed feelings on the guy, but I see major potential. Some things that need to be fixed are: he needs to remove being soft. Stop the one dribble when near the basket and just go up for a dunk. And when double teamed pass the ball out instead of a turnover.

Right now I think the only contributors for next years team are: Diallo, Wilkins, Moreno.

Potential: K Williams, Hawthorne, N'Diaye.

If we lose Moreno, I think that would be a major blow to the roster. Simply because who do we have to replace him? If Pope could actually recruit, it would be a 50/50. Nice if he stayed, doesn't matter if he left.

Or am I the only one who feels that way?

Right now, Moreno leaving would really hurt us at the 5 spot, no question. I think he comes back, but nothing is certain.

Pope would hire the executive from JP Morgan as the assistant coach in charge of recruiting

Then we will win about 10 games instead of 14.

Moreno WILL NOT be staying in the draft. My entire life I've been a UK fan and an NBA fan and an NBA draft fan. Except for UK, I know the NBA quite a bit better than college basketball. If MM stays in the draft he's looking at a late 1st round pick or second round. If he goes late first round it's a wash on next year's money but if he falls to second round he makes less money for the next several years.

With NIL it is crazy for any Freshman who isn't projected as a lottery pick to stay in the draft. Think about the math: if MM stays in college the next 3 years he figures to make $10-11mil over that period and then probably goes in the lottery picks for a pay rise and a 4 year guaranteed contract. If he falls to second round he makes $7 million over the next four years and then maybe doesn't get a 2nd contract.

Haven’t seen him around in a long time. I’m excited about the football program as well. Stein was a home run hire!

Moreno needs to stay long enough to lock in a comfy job in Lexington. NBA will eat him alive. Desk job or G league; pays about the same.

For the betterment of his development. I wish Malachi had forgone any thought of the draft and worked his *** off on conditioning and strengthening his hands all summer. All the draft combine does is put them thru basic drills and half speed pickup games.

Hopefully he’s doing that now. And put brother on a treadmill. He look exhausted way too many times last year.
