If nothing else, you’re optimistic. On paper it’s literally trash compared to the real players in the SEC, also I’d bet any amount you want we won’t spend several weeks in the top 25. The only way that would happen is with two NBA draft candidates come back to college and trust their last year to Mark Pope.

It is almost like all the talking heads got their feelings hurt by projecting last years team was a top 5 to top 10 team and they are bound not to make that mistake again. Dude, we finished 8th in the SEC last season and I think this class is demonstrably worse than the previous season. Saying we have a bottom 5 roster in the SEC for next season is actually being generous.
Hardly, all I need to know is that it isn’t Arkansas, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Texas, Florida, Alabama. If that holds true with no one else being better, that’s a 7th place roster. I guess that’s good enough for some. One could make a significant argument for Auburn and Texas AM being better. A&M for sure has a better player than anyone on our roster.

It’s not hard to come to this conclusion. 247, On3 and every other ranking system has UK near the bottom. If Pope wants to rely on analytics so much, the fan base should be able to rely on analytical rankings to determine if he is successful.
I agree with you for the most part but Pope knew what the job came with. He knows what fans expect. He didn't have to accept the job. I can't feel sorry for him just because he's a good dude. I wish he would have gotten a boost from the UK Brand but I didn't know how goofy and odd he was. He 100% is being let off the hook because he is a former player with a sissy type attitude. The guy should have never accepted the job but I get it. That's a lot of money and well he has a family.

Clown? Just terrible. Even if MP fails as a coach here, it's a bad reflection on you to call someone a clown who played here and represents UK as well as anyone. His gratutude and enthusiasum from that blessing is not matched by many.
Finished 8th with no PG and 3 guards that couldn’t dribble. Will be a major upgrade on ball movement, dribbling and creating open shots for other. You are underestimating this roster.
What does your last sentence have to do with anything in regard to Pope's qualifications to run Kentucky Basketball. Does those qualities make him an elite basketball coach?
Florida, Texas, Missouri, Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, and Vandy all have good rosters with plenty of talent. Most of those programs either have good returning players, good portal additions, elite freshmen talent, or some combination of all three.
There is no good news.....hopefully that'll come at the close of next season with the dismissal of Mark Pope.
