I love how you ignore the point of his post to latch on to obvious hyperbole.WTF. Who has said they wanted Pope to die?

I probably am a moron. I still choose to be optimistic. What other chose do I have?OP is a moron like Pope. You don't compare 2 seasons to 4. Logically you compare cals first 2 years at Arkansas vs Popes at UK.
Or cals first 2 seasons at UK to Popes first 2.
Bizarre to highlight cals last 4 vs 2 for Pope.
We can highlight Cals 4 final fours n 5 seasons vs Popes 0 conference titles or tourney titles n 11 seasons if we are using random years against each other.
Cal has twice as many final fours as Pope has ncaa tournament wins as well.
See how easy it is to compare non comparable timelines?
It's entertainment. Have fun and don't give a ****. Nothing anyone says here matters bro.…every single thing you post is negative, miserable, your life is ending and you wish Pope would die.
You do realize this isn’t life and death, right? You also realize that Calipari won 1 tournament game his last four seasons here, and he had NUMEROUS FIVE STAR RECRUITS.
I‘m a huge Billy Donovan fan, and if Pope doesn’t work out, I’ll be happy with him.
However, Donovan, in his first two seasons at Florida, had a losing record. He also had a losing record in his last season at Florida.
Sometimes it just takes a while for a coach to get things rolling.
He did a great job his first season. Got to the sweet sixteen without his best player, Jaxson Robinson, and his second best player, Lamont Butler. That was a phenomenal coaching job.Why do you care so much if people are negative about pope? Like really why does it bother you? He hasn’t done a good job, people are going to be negative, get over it.
You're right about the misery.…every single thing you post is negative, miserable, your life is ending and you wish Pope would die.

Again, by all accounts, Pope’s first season here was a success. He took UK to the sweet 16 for the first time in 6 years, despite his two best players injured. You do realize Jaxson Robinson didn’t play in the tournament, and Butler was about useless due to a shoulder injury?Your other thread failed miserably, so you decided to start another one tonight? This one is even better with the ad hominem attacks on posters. I'm actually impressed. You played the last two deflection cards for Pope's quasi supporters: #1. falsely declare that UK hasn't been dominant in the post-Rupp era of the program and #2. personally attack posters.
Once again, you lack any data support for why anyone should feel positive about Mark Pope at this point.
I had to create a new account I’m not new been on here for almost 20 years because I criticized the coaching staff.Easy to say, hard to prove, since you've been here less than 2 weeks
You make some great points. I’m just trying to be optimistic. Great post. You're right about the misery.
I must correct you otherwise - there is no way you can compare program building back then to now. You can build a team in the portal year one. Look at Dusty May. Back then, you'd inherit someone else goods, have to keep them, then start your HS recruiting for the following year. First year was almost always a throw away, then you'd have to bring your HS recruits in and season them up over time. It would make it virtually impossible to win if you inherited a garbage coaches players.
I said Lloyd originally also liked Drew either is better than what pope has done I wish he related with these recruits and agents but it’s not happeningWho do you want to be the coach here?
6th place in the sec, blowout losses, showing up seemingly unprepared to play, bad defense and lack of effort is not a great job his first season. It wasn’t terrible, it was just an okay season, not a great one. Way too much stock has been put into that first seasonHe did a great job his first season. Got to the sweet sixteen without his best player, Jaxson Robinson, and his second best player, Lamont Butler. That was a phenomenal coaching job.
This year was disappointing. However, his all in with Quaintance backfired on him.
I just like to be fair. Pope might not be the answer. Probably still too early to tell. The hatred for him is unwarranted.
My guess is that he's actually a fan of a rival school and wants Pope to stay here forever. Some of the stuff he has said doesn't sound like something a Kentucky fan would say. Kentucky fans don't downplay the historic success of this program. Why do you care so much if people are negative about pope? Like really why does it bother you? He hasn’t done a good job, people are going to be negative, get over it.
Honestly, I think we have more of an NIL issue than a coaching issue. I’m not sure what’s going on, but I do know quality players aren’t taking less money to go to schools like Michigan, Arizona, and Duke.I said Lloyd originally also liked Drew either is better than what pope has done I wish he related with these recruits and agents but it’s not happening
We're taking about the 22-13 Illinois team that finished 7th in the big10 and was ranked once in the last 7 AP top 25 polls that year?I’ll disagree about the Illinois second round game in Pope’s first season. They had a dangerously talented team, and most “experts” said this. That was a good win.
You have to also realize that UK’s best player, didn’t play in the tournament, and their second best player, Butler, was never healthy. Don’t discount this. Pope overachieved his first season.
Look, I understand the frustrations. I really do. I’m a 59 year old life long diehard fan. The older you become, and you realize your time is running out, it becomes a little less life and death.
When I was young, I would lose sleep over a UK loss. It still bothers me when they lose, but you realize it’s not that important.
Most of the players aren’t even from Kentucky. And now with money involved, most couldn’t care less about what us fans were always the proudest of, and that’s the tradition of Kentucky basketball.
I hope Pope ends up being successful. It’s too early to tell in my opinion. If he’s not, I’m all in favor of Donovan.
I respect your thoughts and opinions. I’m wrong a lot.
…. and this ^ tells me all I need to know about YOU. You literally don’t know your *** from a hole in the ground. You need to take a few days off and then quit. The only thing I need to know about you is that you have Andy Beshear as your avatar picture.
He‘s a deranged, far left Commie, that is pro abortion, anti death penalty, and wants illegals to vote, and that’s just a short list of everything he’s wrong about.
I see someone has their Karolone Leavitt talking points. Not literally, but figuratively. Everything is hate towards Pope. His fist two season, have been better than Calipari’s last four
LOL. Yeah, that’s it. Come to my house, and I’ll prove how I’m not a UK fan. Everything is decorated with UK memorabilia. From Rupp, to Pope, and Bear Bryant to Will Stein. My guess is that he's actually a fan of a rival school and wants Pope to stay here forever. Some of the stuff he has said doesn't sound like something a Kentucky fan would say. Kentucky fans don't downplay the historic success of this program.
Dude stein and football are not struggling he is killing it and im excited for footballHonestly, I think we have more of an NIL issue than a coaching issue. I’m not sure what’s going on, but I do know quality players aren’t taking less money to go to schools like Michigan, Arizona, and Duke.
UK is just not matching offers for these top players.
Also beat Duke, Gonzaga, Tennessee. You forget to respond to the sweet 16 appearance for the first time in 6 years, without his two best players.6th place in the sec, blowout losses, showing up seemingly unprepared to play, bad defense and lack of effort is not a great job his first season. It wasn’t terrible, it was just an okay season, not a great one. Way too much stock has been put into that first season
You're right, first 2 under Pope is better than the last 4 under Calipari but it isn't good enough, Pope has 1 year to figure it out or he's done. Not literally, but figuratively. Everything is hate towards Pope. His fist two season, have been better than Calipari’s last four
I’m cautiously optimistic. Actually looking forward to the football season. We will be there again. Tailgating in the orange lot next to the barn looking building.Dude stein and football are not struggling he is killing it and im excited for football
Worthwhile question - because honestly, not a lot of kids would turn down an offer if it can in substantially higher, unless there was something fishy about the structure. You make some great points. I’m just trying to be optimistic. Great post.
I just wonder what the truth is about UK and this JMI deal with the NIL stuff.
Dude you need to seriously take a break from here. Not only are you defending the slobbering tard we have as a coach, you’re now stooping so low that you’re making things up.…every single thing you post is negative, miserable, your life is ending and you wish Pope would die.

You didn’t respond to anything I said. He had some good wins, also had really bad losses. Including getting blown out by Tennessee in the sweet 16, blown out by Ohio state, blown out by ole miss, swept by Alabama etc..Also beat Duke, Gonzaga, Tennessee. You forget to respond to the sweet 16 appearance for the first time in 6 years, without his two best players.
We have a brutal schedule but he is building now and for the years up coming with talent I’m thrilled on the recruiting aspectI’m cautiously optimistic. Actually looking forward to the football season. We will be there again. Tailgating in the orange lot next to the barn looking building.
Me too, section 223, season tickets for years, can't wait till August.Dude stein and football are not struggling he is killing it and im excited for football
You are the one who said Kentucky hasn't been anything special since the 50's. Just seems like a "stupid" thing to say for such a big Kentucky fan.LOL. Yeah, that’s it. Come to my house, and I’ll prove how I’m not a UK fan. Everything is decorated with UK memorabilia. From Rupp, to Pope, and Bear Bryant to Will Stein.
What a stupid thing to post. I‘ve had UK basketball and football season tickets for more than 30 years. How about you? How many years have you had season tickets?
If you have season tickets for football you may be in for some better times. Will Stein seems to be doing a great job thus far. I’ll be there as always and I’m optimistic. Mark Pope ? Hell no.LOL. Yeah, that’s it. Come to my house, and I’ll prove how I’m not a UK fan. Everything is decorated with UK memorabilia. From Rupp, to Pope, and Bear Bryant to Will Stein.

lol. My wife even jumped my *** about the thread I started downplaying our significance in CBB history. I’m as frustrated as much or more than any UK fan. I’m not sure what’s the answer is.Put down the alcohol if you’re drinking today lolyou’ve made some wild posts buddy
Again, his first season was a success. Now, since then, things are trending downwards, but, don’t discount his first season.UK is different. You see a bad coach get to a sweet sixteen year 1 currently. That’s the Kentucky effect. Pope don’t do it. He relied on the name on the front of the jersey. The problem is he is regressing and taking the job with him.
It was a stupid thing to say. I’m frustrated with the direction of the program. I have been for 6 years now.You are the one who said Kentucky hasn't been anything special since the 50's. Just seems like a "stupid" thing to say for such a big Kentucky fan.

I’m high on Stein. We tailgate in the orange lot by the barn. Come over and hang out anytime. White Tahoe, right by the big ESPN white and Blue Mini Bus.If you have season tickets for football you may be in for some better times. Will Stein seems to be doing a great job thus far. I’ll be there as always and I’m optimistic. Mark Pope ? Hell no.
Let’s give Pope one more year.If you have season tickets for football you may be in for some better times. Will Stein seems to be doing a great job thus far. I’ll be there as always and I’m optimistic. Mark Pope ? Hell no.
LOL I would prefer if you all were right about Pope. I’d take being wrong about that because I hate seeing a good guy get fired. I just don’t see this working out because of how hard of a time he has recruiting and with the media.lol. My wife even jumped my *** about the thread I started downplaying our significance in CBB history. I’m as frustrated as much or more than any UK fan. I’m not sure what’s the answer is.
The thing is that we’re going to just have roll with what we have next season, and hope it’s better than we think it is.
Kentucky basketball is the best tradition in all of sports in my opinion.
I don’t, he knows he’s a bad fit and refuses to do the right thing. Plus the dudePope came here with honest and sincere intentions.
I actually feel sorry for him.
What you say about Donovan’s record is something I think about with Pope. If Hurley got hired at UK the year he started at UConn and had the same record each season, he would not have lasted long enough to win the titles. Ditto Donovan at Florida. People would’ve been calling for Golden to be fired if he lost in the NIT 1st round then NCAA 1st round in the first two seasons.…every single thing you post is negative, miserable, your life is ending and you wish Pope would die.
You do realize this isn’t life and death, right? You also realize that Calipari won 1 tournament game his last four seasons here, and he had NUMEROUS FIVE STAR RECRUITS.
