I guess I shouldn't be shocked that so many here don't see something wrong with the college landscape with all that's going on. Instead it's "they got the players and we didn't".
They used a loophole for nonconference ACC games. ESPN had it as headline news. To me someone from ESPN/abc should be fired……..Curious if ESPN feels like dUKe is cheating on them by playing a few games on Amazon Prime.
Is it a loophole when the agreement is "Duke will play all conference games on ESPN" and this is a non-conference game? They used a loophole for nonconference ACC games. ESPN had it as headline news. To me someone from ESPN/abc should be fired……..
For the foreseeable future they will be unfortunately. Maybe after next season with a new AD and the hires he he brings inDuke sadly is going to be an absolute machine next season, JS will win a title at some point via talent alone.
Yes, he's converting Muslims in Israel.Popes actually not even recruiting. He's trying to convert Muslims to mormonism
Scheyer also reached a Final Four that season. I would have gladly reached a Final Four instead of winning a regular season game.Pope at UK 1-0 vs dUKe and cooper Flagg.
Indiana is projected much higher than UK next seasonDuke is cooking with GREASE, as is Florida. We're Indiana, minus the natty in football
Lol it was just a joke. But since you think there's no Muslims in Israel I guess jokes is on you?? There's tons of Muslims over there if that's what you meant by your reply.Ye
Yes, he's converting Muslims in Israel.
It's because they have a competent GM and athletics department.
Well, one is taking advantage of it and the other is the laughing stock of college basketball because he doesn't know what the h3ll he is doing.I guess I shouldn't be shocked that so many here don't see something wrong with the college landscape with all that's going on. No, they're a small minority.Lol it was just a joke. But since you think there's no Muslims in Israel I guess jokes is on you?? There's tons of Muslims over there if that's what you meant by your reply.
Which would mean they are still over there. 20% of the population would indeed be a minority but also a whole lot of people so idk what you're trying to say.No, they're a small minority.
No, MegaBlue05 is correct, Duke has as much $$$ as they need to do whatever they want, everyone else is just a spectator to their decadence.Make ours look poor?? I thought everyone was screaming that we spent more than anyone last year??? Is this still not the talking point???![]()

I hope so, but even Cal won a ship, so I am confident that Schyer will get one soonDuke is gearing up to waste more talent than John Calipari and Dean Smith combined.
Now...now ...you'll disrupt all the whining by putting facts in this post.Duke, with all their talent, haven’t won a NCAA Men’s basketball Championship since 2015.
That was also that last time a freshman won Final Four Most Outstanding Player.Duke, with all their talent, haven’t won a NCAA Men’s basketball Championship since 2015.
I hate to admit it but you’re right.Duke will eventually buy another championship. They operate on a different level. They’re Nike’s flagship program and their big donors make ours look like poors.
Pope is a good guy but he’s just not UK material. He would do really good at a small school somewhere but he doesn’t have what it takes here. Poor guy can’t recruit at a level to be elite, he has a hard time with the media, etc. it’s just not a good fit.The most embarrassing thing this cycle BY FAR is Pope going to Israel to recruit this very underwhelming player.
We should've been able to lock this guy up easily with a zoom or two. Can't get it done. Pope was played so hard by Stokes and is so desperate he goes into hostile territory to pursue a depth piece.
That's just sad on so many levels.
Pope at UK 1-0 vs dUKe and cooper Flagg.

Did you say the same thing about UK in 2015?There is only 1 ball and a lot guys that think they are the guy at Duke. That team looks like recipe for disaster to me. The way they have been stacking rosters the last 10 years, you'd expect them to have been on a UCLA 70's run.
And they'll win one sooner than us again because they've embraced the modern era. Amazon has unlimited money. That deal is incredibleDuke, with all their talent, haven’t won a NCAA Men’s basketball Championship since 2015.
They’ve had the opportunity, the money and the recruits yet still nothing since 2015.And they'll win one sooner than us again because they've embraced the modern era. Amazon has unlimited money. That deal is incredible
Pope sucks at recruiting yes, however, Nike funnels kids to Duke, they've been doing it for years. Notice how right after 2015 or 16 that Duke started getting players rated higher than Calipari at Kentucky, they ate first before us, Phil knight made sure of it because Calipari refused to play in the Phil Knight invitational tournament. Opposing coaches also used the 2015 platoon thing against Calipari, telling players they wouldn't get their minutes & would be recruited over.Duke just added another 5 star to it's 2026 roster. If this kid was comming from high school he would be the #1 center in this class and the #1 overall prospect in 2027, see link below.
Meanwhile Pope has to fly to Israel to get a backup center.

The people that run ESPN are Duke alums I've been told. They used a loophole for nonconference ACC games. ESPN had it as headline news. To me someone from ESPN/abc should be fired……..
It's coming, we got Will Stein babyDuke is cooking with GREASE, as is Florida. We're Indiana, minus the natty in football
Calipari wastes talent because of his in game coaching & Scheyer wastes it because of his end of the game coachingDuke is gearing up to waste more talent than John Calipari and Dean Smith combined.
I did not. Did that team win a championship?Did you say the same thing about UK in 2015
Your point falls flat when considering Pope has played the two most difficult rated schedules in school history his first two years. I have no problem with lightening the ooc slate as long as the SEC is as good it has been the last couple seasons.Duke will have three games on Amazon on a special deal. That Duke at Florida game will be LIT (it only makes sense - ACC-SEC challenge). Duke plays UCONN in Vegas, Michigan at MSG, Michigan St in Chicago, and Gonzaga in Detroit. We're gonna play Louisville, probably at Miami, get spanked by Kansas, and Gonzaga. Then will fill out our schedule with Eastern Illinois, Texas A&M Commerce, West Georgia, Bluefield State, IU-East, Ohio-Zainesville, Wisconsin-Whitewater, Scott County High School (possible loss), and who knows what other patsies.
Same can be said about UK? I'm pretty sure many coaches could have a very successful season when given $22M to buy a team. The fact that Pope didn't is an indictment on him.Yes! It is not Scheyer. It is a well oiled machine setup for any coach to succeed at this point.
