They used a loophole for nonconference ACC games. ESPN had it as headline news. To me someone from ESPN/abc should be fired……..
Is it a loophole when the agreement is "Duke will play all conference games on ESPN" and this is a non-conference game?
Or is that just smart business?

This is not noteworthy or anything new. Duke has been better than Kentucky for a decade or longer now. The only thing we can come close to hanging our hat on is that we beat them head to head in 2024. They have destroyed us in tournament success getting to three final fours to our zero, they have destroyed us in recruiting, they have won 3 out of the last 4 times in the last decade and they have crushed us eight out of the last ten times we have played each other. The only thing we can say that we have done better than Duke is winning the last head-to-head matchup. Other than that its very clear they are the dominant school currently and have been for the last decade.

Make ours look poor?? I thought everyone was screaming that we spent more than anyone last year??? Is this still not the talking point??? 🤭🤭🤭
No, MegaBlue05 is correct, Duke has as much $$$ as they need to do whatever they want, everyone else is just a spectator to their decadence.

So it was all a lie and we didn’t spend double of everyone else??? I have a friend asking is why I’m trying to find out. 🤭

The most embarrassing thing this cycle BY FAR is Pope going to Israel to recruit this very underwhelming player.

We should've been able to lock this guy up easily with a zoom or two. Can't get it done. Pope was played so hard by Stokes and is so desperate he goes into hostile territory to pursue a depth piece.

That's just sad on so many levels.
Pope is a good guy but he’s just not UK material. He would do really good at a small school somewhere but he doesn’t have what it takes here. Poor guy can’t recruit at a level to be elite, he has a hard time with the media, etc. it’s just not a good fit.

He's literally mid major to his bones. From the back cut offense, to the 40 3s a game approach, to the corny awful recruiting approach.

Duke just added another 5 star to it's 2026 roster. If this kid was comming from high school he would be the #1 center in this class and the #1 overall prospect in 2027, see link below.

Meanwhile Pope has to fly to Israel to get a backup center.

Pope sucks at recruiting yes, however, Nike funnels kids to Duke, they've been doing it for years. Notice how right after 2015 or 16 that Duke started getting players rated higher than Calipari at Kentucky, they ate first before us, Phil knight made sure of it because Calipari refused to play in the Phil Knight invitational tournament. Opposing coaches also used the 2015 platoon thing against Calipari, telling players they wouldn't get their minutes & would be recruited over.

Duke will have three games on Amazon on a special deal. That Duke at Florida game will be LIT (it only makes sense - ACC-SEC challenge). Duke plays UCONN in Vegas, Michigan at MSG, Michigan St in Chicago, and Gonzaga in Detroit. We're gonna play Louisville, probably at Miami, get spanked by Kansas, and Gonzaga. Then will fill out our schedule with Eastern Illinois, Texas A&M Commerce, West Georgia, Bluefield State, IU-East, Ohio-Zainesville, Wisconsin-Whitewater, Scott County High School (possible loss), and who knows what other patsies.
Your point falls flat when considering Pope has played the two most difficult rated schedules in school history his first two years. I have no problem with lightening the ooc slate as long as the SEC is as good it has been the last couple seasons.
