Shumate had a really good US open. He’s always been a pretty high level freestyler but he surprised me this past weekend. He placed 3rd beating Merrill, Bechtold, and Brophy with his only loss coming to Barr. I’m assuming he could replace Geog unless Waters is ready to go immediately
Does this mean Flo replaces Elam with Geog in the P4P ranking in the spot above Barr. I mean Flo's justification for place Elam above Barr was time in school.

Penn State wrestlers are moving on to the next stage of the offseason following the US Open tournament in Las Vegas.

I actually haven't. I was expecting a few but nothing has happened yet
Imagine the change in head coaches from Mr. Even Keel to the Screaming Monkey.
Imagine losing AJ and gaining Lucas for the room personality.
I can't be the only one who will be happy for Lucas, I can't wait till he busts out his first split.
But after four years in the room, I’ll bet he has the confidence to tune that out!

I am going to go out on a limb here. I will say PSU beats Okie St by more (a whole lot more) than the team difference at 184.Okie State could beat PSU if it had points at 184!

PSU beat anOSU by 97.0 pts last year. To beat PSU, Ohio State would've needed 70% of the total points scored by all wrestlers at the weight.

Coaches have to be evaluating the +/-s of bringing AJ in for a year. In Nebraska's case, I don't think 11.5 points were worth the baggage he brought.
Meaning if Rocco pick Okie State, there would be a real possibility of Okie St winning - especially with a little help from the zebras!
The Cowboy's received significant help from the zebras at nationals this year and still finished 50 behind.
As of now, Cochran is the only Penn State wrestler in the portal. It's possible that someone submitted their name yesterday and compliance is taking the full 48 hours (until 11:59 p.m. ET Saturday) to enter it, but, I have no reason to believe that is the case at this time. Should just be the one out and none in for the Lions.

It will be ironic if a Hawkeye is the last portal entry.
More good news for the Stanford program. Provo is staying.
Stanford returning their whole postseason lineup + Garvin they will be dangerous next year
They have a chance to be a podium team I think. Provo, Knox, Consiglio, Valencia, Cardenas (Cholokyan), Garvin, Norman, Posada. Really only question marks are 184 and heavy and they have a bunch of good options at 184 with Montiero, Han-Lindemyer, Michaelson, and Wojcikiewicz. Also tough kids like Zach Hanson, Parco, and Guffy on the bench. I wasn’t sure if Cardenas has another year or not but if he doesn’t Cholokyan is a stud as well
Really good pick up for them. With Hardy moving on they had a spot to fill. Jake Hockaday was a pretty good recruit and he went 7-2 during redshirt this year but Echemendia is a big step up. Getting him and Robinson has them super solid in the lightweight’s

That’s a tough team. Should be on the podium or at least fighting for it. I thought I heard Echemendia wants to go up to 149 so maybe some things move around a bit but this is close
