It is so hard to judge these international guys. Obviously today is just one game, but it seems like it was likely against pretty weak competition. I know he's played decent competition when they participate in the Euro League, but his stats are even less impressive at that level. How it all translates to SEC caliber competition is very difficult for me to judge.

$10k on $500 is +2000 odds, which is a very reasonable number for a top 10 ish team. Obviously the team didn't live up to that, but that was the perception in the preseason. To give perspective, Houston and Arizona have +1900 odds RN, and they are tied for 7th in title odds.
This year, UKs odds are +6500. They are not among the top 25 favorites. It is really quite embarrassing. Kansas, with no roster + Stokes and Kinney, have +2500 odds. It just goes to show how much of a laughingstock the program has become, and that the people on here spewing that BS about this team being better than last year's are totally off
base and, frankly, full of ****.

KSR today…14 of the top 20 available players (would’ve liked an explanation on that…but Matt said it multiple times) VISITED Kentucky. Pope landed none of them.
He’s playing in the second division of the second most competitive league in the world. But, TBF, the G League is probably better at this point.
You can root for the team and not support the coach. The two don’t have to be done simultaneously.

I agree with what you said. I stand by what I said about Santos' game. Whether he's good enough or not I don't know, but what he seems to be good at fits what Pope is trying to do. Unless something changes sounds like we're going to find out in the not so distant future.

Not that Morton is a stud, he's not, however, Noah couldn't hold Morton's jock strap on the court. Noah can't create his own shot, Morton can, go watch his tape, McBride can create also.
He shoots 40% from 3, can score on the inside, attacks the basket & can rebound. The podcast listened to says he plays 14 minutes per game so obviously his numbers would be higher if he played more.
I just want to know who it is you guys are seeing that you keep saying stuff like this about. I've seen like, 2 or 3 posters sunshine pumping out of everyone on the board. Márcio Henrique da Costa Santos is a brazilian born 23 years old that will be 24 in November. That‘s important to know because of the potential new ncaa eligibility rule. Uk will need to get him cleared asap.
he played professional basketball for 8 years(6 in Brazil , one in Germany and one Israel). It will be easier for him to adjust to life in USA, ncaa and sec basketball because he already moved twice away from his culture.
he is not going to be rattled by the away atmosphere in sec, which it feel like a walk in the park vs the atmosphere in eurolegue or Israel.
he went tried for nba in 2023 , went undrafted and played 5 games for summer for the hawks.
baskeball wise, at 6’8 he is rather undersized for center , but has decent athletic abilities. Skills wise he has a little but of everything, can pass, shoot some, decent footwork in the paint, and decent rebounding and blocking shots.
At this point , he is a more rounded player because of experience than MM .

I’m not going to pretend to be an expert scout who knows all about him, but his stats show that he fouls at a crazy rate. Like so high that he would average fouling out if he got a full game’s worth of minutes. That probably has something to do with it.
Or say some random BS like "next man up" or complain about how negative the fanbase is.
There aren’t many left. Probably about 10-12 usual people who still support pretty hardcore. A few stragglers come out here and there.
