The punk literally trolled UK the whole time even playing a UK game in a video. Pope sucks but this kid is a giant POS.

Unless UK comes up with a few more really good players, or the current roster somehow plays way above what they seem to be, it’s looking like a sub .500 record in the SEC and no NCAAT. But you gotta play the games, see what happens.

Thank you for your service but I am sure you probably were more mature than this kid. From what I have seen of him he still seems like a child to me as many eighteen year olds are.
People deploy to war zones in the military at that age, he’s not considered a child, he’s a young man at 18.

Addition by subtraction. The drama from last season was dreadful. Fights, no fights, girlfriend stealing, injuries real and who knows. Stokes was a risk to be a good teammate. Unfortunately now though, Pope most likely will not be able to replace that talent level. Maybe he actually gets players to run his offense this year.

Our problem is simple. It's not some.star studded recruit that we are recruiting and want desperately. It's not the roster constructed by our coach. It's the coach we have. Because of the AD we have. Amd the administration we have. Pope has NO standing with any elite talent. He's not proven jack****. Therefore, he is behind the 8 ball on the recruiting trail. Hurley, Self, Cal, Golden etc... , have proven themselves. They don't have to be struggling along and tolerate games these kids play. Heck recruits already know what thise coaches can accomplish for them. IOW, our sorry worthless AD, put this program in this position because he lacks a killer instinct and winning isn't most important to him. He makes terrible evaluations of people when hiring, and gives stupid contracts that further put us in a bind. Just look at Cal's contract, Stoops contract, and now Popes contract (a sweet 16 gets a one year extension???). We have a leadership problem at the top. While I do like the things I see from Stein, it's too early to tell. But I like what I see from him so far.

According to people around the program Nike put up a considerable amount of money to get our offer high enough to keep him at a Nike school. I don’t see why they would lie about that and it makes sense considering they don’t want their top HS player at a rival school if they could help it. Even if they didn’t, he lost a player he recruited the hardest ever for two years, with our highest NIL offer ever, to an Adidas school. No matter how you slice that, it’s a massive failure.
Who exactly is it that qualifies as around the program that said this? Are there any links to substantiate this? Do we actually know that Kansas didn't offer more money than UK when it was all said and done? If Nike was that concerned about keeping him at a Nike school couldn't they have made that a condition of the contract or specify that it would be grounds for voiding the contract? Has Nike been all that keen on helping UK ever since the PK80 snub?

I wouldn’t call anyone dimwitted when you argued for Stoops till the end and now you’re one of the 4-5 defending Pope from everything including fair criticisms. I want what’s best for UK, which was getting rid of stoops and soon they’ll be firing Pope. Popes a nice guy but he doesn’t have what it takes to get UK back to being elite again.

I’m not happy, though I don’t doubt for a second this guy is going to be a nightmare to coach.

His recruitment will go down as a learning lesson to all concerned.
I would have celebrated his commitment but it’s done. I will say that he is a great basketball player but the 3 HS‘s in 4 years including the getting kicked off his Football team was sketchy. Let’s wish him well as a 502 native & talented Hooper.
Let’s move on & hope that Kam & Hawthorne flourish at the swing 3 spot.
We got 4 & 5 covered with 3 new PGs all of whom started 30+ games at D1 schools.
Lets go win 25+ games & be competitive all year.

How humiliating was it for you when you had argued with fans about stoops for months and he ended up getting fired? Now we have one of the best recruiters and offensive minds in college football coaching our team.
He won’t play long enough to score 30. He’s showcasing. Probably play 20 total minutes.
